  1. no probs olly, glad to be of persistence! lol
  2. and to all those that did know, its one of the best all round vw sights to visit! not just for the classifieds, but the forum itself is bristling with info of all sorts from all sorts! enjoy!
  3. sportex are basically a cheaper version of peco, more noise than anything else! do not presume that a gti back box will fit a vr either, make sure it specifies the vr in its fitment range before you buy! and i would get a local zorst centre to fit it, saves a lot of hassle in the long run!
  4. i will be attending this one all weekend claire, but will have to leave early-ish sunday as i'm at work on the nightime! paying up front is no probs! c'mon peeps lets make the club stand out at this one so we get some good publicity for the winter period!
  5. give awesome gti a bell on 0161 776 0777 olly, a tenner plus p&p as far as i'm still aware! dont forget to use your forum 10% discount too!
  6. it shouldn't do andrew, i've had mine on for two years now and no problems with the light coming on when it shouldn't!
  7. basically, to be ultra safe, disconnect the battery and leave for around ten mins! then, on the back of the steering wheel at about 3 & 9 o'clock, you will see two allen key bolts, these attach the airbag to steering wheel! undo and remove the airbag! then its just a case of removing the centre nut on the wheel and removing it and remove the lower steering column cowl to access the resistor wiring and unplug it and plug your new resistor back in! fitting is the reversal of removal, et voila! 8. no point trying to beat mina as he dont own the beast anymore, but ian is bringing it along so it'd be worth the smile wiping senario i reckon!
  9. i'm sure if we put it to him he would still organise it for us and attend himself , whatever he might be driving now! talk was it was going to be an rs audi of some sort!
  10. depends what u mean by quicker, if acceleration is your bag then just get the old school report out, "could have done better". but if you thinking hopping past cars on the m'way at 140-150mph is slow then join the airforce! head gaskets are also reknowned for going if not looked after or regular coolant changes performed! although there isalways the exception to the rule , hey pete :-(
  11. a sad day indeed claire, but not in vain i hope as the fight continues for many others! and congrats at reaching the milestone year spend on the car!
  12. me too, and just to add insult to injury, the schrick i had fitted has added nothing to the insurance premium as hic only base their policies on a bhp increase, and the 12bhp its given over previous is not enuff to warrant charging me more! bonus!
  13. i wont be able to make the august one due to attending the polo show with some of my buddies! sorry to miss out guys!
  14. personally i think the "porridge pot" is favourite as it sells a positive plephora of beers/wines/spirits/food and STELLA!!!!! and did mention it sells good food and STELLA, and has a kiddies barn too, which should appeal to the more mature of us! lmfao
  15. i had a 3.1 conversion put in mine using a 'rado block and boring/stroking it to achieve the capacity! my engine cost over 4k including schrick 276 cams and a pp head, large tb, flowed(honed&extruded) inlet, flowed zorst mani, and induction zorst and remap! engine alone should produce in the region of 220-240bhp (260 is very ambitious), mine when it was run in and re-mapped was turning in 276bhp and 249lbs/ft. until it dropped a valve before xmas last year! must admit, for the money spent i wish i'd have charged it to start with and achieved the same result for less!
  16. i'd be very interseted in the intake tubes but would idealyy like to keep my ram-air filter as it already sounds like a rabid wolf on steroids! any ideas on pricing of complete and individual components? not everyone will want the same filter of course!
  17. the only way for a true "on paper" comparison is to run all the cars, modded or otherwise, on the same rr on the same day! something like...ooh...errrr...this october at stealth? lol must say i am quite happy with my cars road manners(or lack of them depending on what car you drive!) and its printed performance figures, considering the mods anyhow!
  18. sept be good for me so i go on hoiday with a smile knowing i opened a fresh can of whup ass on the lot of you......NOT! lol
  19. the nearside rear quarter is the main culprit in my car as i have two 10" kennys similar to yours! the offside panel is strenghened for the fuel filler but the nearside isn't hence the extreme flex in the panel on full thrap! i put two layers of dynamat extreme in there but it is awkward to get in, small pieces at a time are the way to do it! i did the same in the tailgate panel and thats okay now, i still get some panel bounce still but more will be going in soon and as for the roof, that will just have to vibe away as i'm not going down the cavity fill route again! try making an mdf floo
  20. i was well on the way before you arrived pete as i didnt drive half way round coventry looking for the tgif! lmao! next time we find an easier place to get to!
  21. we gonna have to start a group buy up in stealth racing shares soon! vince IS the man tho i have to say and friendly as yer like with it! highly reccomended!
  22. just goes to show its not the size of the boat but the motion of the ocean! i've had a few dabbles with them pre-schrick and been impressed by the low speed grip/acceleration especially outta roundabouts! same cant be said of the speed from 40-70 tho, all over them like a bad rash from there up to the wrong side of the limit and beyond! just looking for a victim r32 to try out now i'm all scricked and chipped! bring it on in you 24k vr's! six is right tho, they are still very nice! i want those seats! just not the midrange transmission loss! 23. thats a bit costly for a nights leg-over action! just do the meal thang, club, taxi home and bedroom olympics to finish! job done!
