  1. i wouldn't have thought it was that hard. i'd go from under the car tho.
  2. how would you go about doin that exactly?

  4. i can get them fitted for about that price...in fact i can f1's for very little more. but if you ain't near bracknell, that is a good price.
  5. yep, top tyres. absolutly awesone in the wet. was a new set on my sis's nova, and i couldn't lock the brakes up in the wet (and believe me i was tryin!). only reservation is that it felt like there was a lot of flex in the blocks...but that may well have actually been somethin else on the car, so i wouldn't worry about that.
  6. i've got a set of highline wheels painted anthracite for sale if you're interested?
  7. thats cheap, vw usually want £200

    renewed

think its actually... all obd1's (older cars) = 16 all obd2;s (later cars) = 17 but then take upto £200 off if its a vento as well.
  9. thing is if money were no object, you'd still end up with only two or three cars, as you'd quickly get favourites and never drive the rest. me thinks sooner or later you'd end up with no vw's.
  10. depends, were they standard halfords ones, or genuine vw ones from your local dealers. o.e. vw ones are best for the majority of owners. if you do overheat them (as i do), then you'll have to look at uprated ones. i've got pagid on standard discs myself.
  11. standard vw ones. unless you overheat them (in which case you'll have to go uprated) they'll give best pedal feel, and cold performance.
  12. hold on a sec, i may be trading my golf up for a vento, and the first thing i'll wanna do is a golf conversion.
  13. you be lettin the pedal up too fast!

well, i only live 39 miles from the london eye (was boredone night!) i live in what they call the 'jewel of the thames' who. wouldn't say it was an especially safe place in regards to car theft. all my mates except 1 have had their car stolen/broken into/damaged. worth remembering that my car is a '93 tho, age can make a fair difference. oh, if i decide to trade it up for a '97 vento tho, it'll be about £60 less! 15. say i won the lotto, i'd have... scooby RB5 as daily direvr (later replaced with skyline R34), caterham 7 as fun car (later replaced with radical), ferrai 360 convertible (as posing car!), and a tuned up vr6 (later replaced with some genuine WRC car). mods on the vr6... -ENGINE:lightened and balanced, schrik, cams, head, big tb, re-map, -BOX: 6 speed conversion with diff and sequential comversion. -SUSP: leda coilovers, neuspeed bars, bushes, quick rack -BRAKES: one-off AP's -INTERIOR: r32 -EXTERIOR: nothing much, maybe some crystal lights, but that'd be about it.

    renewed

just renewed my car insurance, and its come down a massive £400+. goodbye directline, hello elephant. total cost of £597.65 (and would of been about £90 less if i wasn't payin it monthly), is now my cheapest ever insurance bill! good price for a 23 year old on a vr6 i think? so i'm in a good mood today.
  17. i'd be more about embarrassed the metro if i were you!
  18. funnniest insurance thing i had happen was when i needed to be insured on my mum's '95 cavavlier 1.8 lsi (bottom end, worth about £1k), and her company said 'no, we won't insure such a young person on a car with such a big, powerful engine'...i almost wet myslef laughing, what with me bein 22 (at the time) and driving a 2.8 as my own car. oh, and since when is 90bhp powerful?!
  19. i dont think we should be spreading this tip too much, its gotta be an error and they may notice it! lol!
  20. go to elephant, then add another named driver (mum, dad, older bro), and watch it come down!
  21. i've got it comin up next week, best quote of £519 FC so far (23, 5yrs ncd, k plate vr6)
