  1. LOL....yeah, certainly a technique to getting a s/c vr off the line. I'll have to perfect the technique all over again with the 350hp 20vt that's in mine now.
  2. 13.6 is a good time, especially with cut slicks
  3. Probably the Storm car. It's not stickered.
  4. You mean Storm Developments mk2 i take it. Yeah, a much quicker car again, due to 370hp odd! Put that against the fact that the red mk2 is a n/a R32 at 300hp max, then 12s from that car is still seriously impressive no matter what.
  5. LOL......so what is quick in your book then? I take it you understand what an achievement it is to get a car into the 12s. You need big HP, excellent transmission, grip, driving ability..........12s are definately not slow and definately not to be sniffed at.
  6. The red Mk2?....slow? Any car that gets into the 12s is far from slow in my book.
  7. The red mk2 was indeed a R32 DSG equipped car. Very quick car. As for the 20v mk2......you may jest.....'it's only a 20v'......but i didn't see any VR equipped car get anywhere near it, the times don't lie!
  8. The number for RUF (Old Z Engineering distributor) is 0041 1856 07 61 However, I believe they either sold the contract to, or became MC Racing, but i don't have there number. Just done a google search, but they don't come up anymore. What exactly do you need from them?
  9. I love this car. Simple, stylish and classy.
  10. This is quite possibly the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard. If the guy owes you money, either: 1) Go and get it! 2) Send the Baliffs in 3) Report the guy to the Police and Trading Standards. It's quite simple!! If it were me, and someone was having fun spending my £2000 i'd be going straight up there to get it back, every last penny, and i wouldn't be moving from his doorstep until i got the lot. End of. You guys need to sort it out, otherwise that monies gone.
  11. When i had my charged VR, i ended up having a 3rd box put in it just before i sold it. The car was running in the region of 275bhp and 235lbft. Varying factors lead to the box failures. * Broken selector shaft being the main culprit. As said, the box should be good for around 280-300 lb/ft, but not only ower/torque being a factor, but also how you treat the box itself when driving!! I'm notoriously hard through the gearbox (as some here may vouch) and ultimately that was the downfall where my boxes were concerned and not POWER/TORQUE. Treat it with respect, because lets face it, the most VR's
  12. Dunno. She's got the injectors to cope now, so with the planned water injection, reckon it should do a steady 285-290.
  13. as i remember it hit just over 280 on the 1st power run though !amazed 8) Yep she did indeed. Had to back her off though for safety reasons
  14. The characteristics of the 1.8T give you most of your torque much lower down the rev range than the VR. Hence, upto 100mph they won't be much in it. After this the VR will pull away from it. The K03 on the 150 1.8Ts is woefully small and suffers really badly from heatsoak so don't perform that well anything past 120mph. Horses for courses and just the opposite characteristics of two different engines.
