The VR is doing something strange, any experience / suggestions appreciated. Its like it doesn't know whether to pull or not. When I'm doing 2 to 3k revs, if i try to accelerate the car bogs down and feels like I have put the brakes on lightly. If I then ease off the loud pedal it seems to feel happier. If I push it hard its fine. Also noticed its reluctant to start cos it wants to idle too slowly. I'm sure the plugs and leads are ok and have checked the whole idle valve thing.

Im just experiencing exactly the same thing!

Sometimes car is fine but sometimes under load the acceleration cuts completely and car 'bucks' badly, press the accelerator and nowt happens, engine keeps running tho. Wait a few seconds and its fine again.

I changed the fuel filter yesterday but car is still the same. Got it booked in next week. Let me know how you get on Andy!

right chaps, mines sorted! should have known it, was further problems with the idle stabilisation valve pipework. Have been having problems with this for about a month now, found the contents of my NEW! sound deadner wedged firmly in the pipe leading to the valve. Only replaced the old one about 2 weeks ago for the same reason, looked closer and found the spongey stuff was melted and have realised that I have had problems in this area since I changed to a RamAir filter, basically the air I am now sucking in is so much hotter than with the proper airbox that it has fried the contents of two sound deadners in two weeks. The new deadner came with a heatshield facing the exhaust so they're obviously prone to heat damage. Hope this helps...

Very interesting, i installed a ram-air a few months ago.

any chance of some pics so i can check if my problems are being caused by the same thing?

Or could you describe exactly where the idle stabilisation valve/ noise damper/ pipes are? :)
