legvw 0
I your not getting a spark or of your fuel pump doesn't prime then I'd say there's something wrong with the crank sensor/crank sensor loom.
lumoxs 0
well it cranks n cranks but doesnt smell of fuel..... possibly fuel pump aint priming then?
rodney 17
quick check .... pop a plug out and hold against the engine whilst cranking... you should see a spark... that'll firm that up and you should be able to smell fuel from the hole the plug came out of....remember to use insulated pliers otherwise you will do the dance of shame as you get electrocuted... VR6Pete 1,455
How come you lengened the loom
cbmotorsport 0
sounds like you have a wire in the wrong place, lengthening a loom will cause no ill effects providing all joints are sound, each cable goes to the right terminal, and all earths and lives are in the right place. i lengthened the loom on mine when i did the conversion, took a while but if you take it slow and double check each connection its easy double check your fuel pump is priming by sticking your head next to the fuel pump while someone flicks the ignition on, then do as stated above, check for spark . Fir example there was 3 brown and black wires!!!! So now I'm after an ODB1 wiring loom if there is one for sale??
filtee 0
Why not swap the brown and black ones one at a time. And try it each time?
lumoxs 0
Done lol.Problem is, I cut the ecru loom and engine plug loom the same time. And had a fewvsets of 2 wires everywhere blue red black green etc. Could proberbly be a simple fix, but I think it would be easier to just get a new loom and do it 1x1Plus just found out my engine is a AAA so I bet knowin my luck them looms are like hens teeth!! lumoxs 0
No spark and no fuelMy mate has an AAA engine project and has a spare engine ecu fusebox loom sp now i can sit there and follow wire for wire what goes whereFingers crossed problem solved
lumoxs 0
just a thought, if i have NO spark and NO fuel getting to the engine, could this be relay or fuse related rather than getting a wire mixed?
lumoxs 0
replaced the fuel pump relay and nw im getting fuel, still not getting spark tho...any ideas??

cbmotorsport 0
check that you have a live and an earth to the coil pack, pins 1 and 5. and the 3 pins in the middle are the spark feeds from the ecu, check you have an earth pulse at these pins when cranking,if not, let us know and ill post an ecu pinout diagram so you can check pulse wires. lumoxs 0
they pins 1 & 5 on the engine loom plug ?
cbmotorsport 0
no sorry should have made myself clearer, im talking about the plug on top of the coil pack mate, cant remember what pin numbers they are on the engine loom plug
lumoxs 0
ok buddy thats cool. Also, after extending my loom i had to cut the crank sensor and knock sensor, after some serious reading, have later found out that this could also be causing a problem.... if the ECU senses that the engine isnt cranking then why sould it make the sparks spark....so possibly worth a volt meter check tomorrow to see if there getting the correct voltage.... as all this could be down to them not being done correctly! lumoxs 0
i had a thin black and brow wire from the ecu going to the plug on the coil pack, it wasnt earthing so i put a wire from there to the negitive on the batt, couldnt see if it were that or not cause my bat died.... aarghhhhhhh
