Ben Seabrook 4 Posted October 21, 2011 Report Share Posted October 21, 2011 So the cab is having to life outside over winter due to the engine coming out and taking up the garage space, i have bought a cover for it but was wondering if there is anything else i should do ? Store it on axle stands ? How to stop the brakes rusting etc, any hints or tips welcome Link to post Share on other sites

bells 5 Posted October 21, 2011 Report Share Posted October 21, 2011 i once had a so called pro cover for a car i had it was breathable , but it still rubbed the paint and built up condensation , my view is leave it uncoverd and just clean it as you would if you were on the road with it , open the roof on sunny days , handbrake off , i know its your pride and joy but it was built to be out side . haveing said that if you can get a lock up go for it ! cabrioman 6 Posted October 21, 2011 Report Share Posted October 21, 2011 put a light coat of grey primer on the brake discs to stop the rusting ..... put it up on axle stands that should save the tyres if they go flat or soft .... i put a small heater in my cabby and turned it one once a week for a few hours to help dry it out ..... oldmandon 1 Posted October 21, 2011 Report Share Posted October 21, 2011 Can also get zip up bags that have extractors fitted to remove moister, or you can get a rigid folding jobby, basically you drive the car up to the front of this cover that is all folded on the floor, then you just lift it over the car. It doesn't touch any part of the car, and allows a breeze through to keep it dry.....I can't remember where I've seen them but they looked quite good, and I didn't think they were very expensive either....worth a look....
