Anyone got any experience with this stuff?

Planning on stripping the crusty paint of my original alloys but I can't be bothered to get the Tyres taken off, will it do the tyres much/any damage?

I did a bit of googling n opinions are all over the shop, one person says it's fine n others say the opposite

sand blasting is always an option, my mate had a whole set done for £80 and came out really well. you just have to make sure they use the finest grade sand and on a low pressure...

Yea ive used Nitromors on previous wheel when i refurb them. You will also need a wire wheel for a drill to remove all the paint. Do not get nitromors on the tyres it will burn through them. It is eveil stuff and melted the plastic pot that i put it into.

I'm not after any kind of perfect finish as their only for winter use so don't wanna be spending much.

I'm gonna be spraying them myself too, just a bit of practice for myself more than anything

But don't wanna spend hours n hours with sandpaper etc lol

its a pain in the backside to fully remove if you get it into all of the corners and therefore will ruin the finish if you dont get it all off not worth the hassle in my opinion

if the wheels are already off easier to have the tyres off, then the worlds your oyster go which ever way you want then

You don't have to strip the old paint off.

Scotch brite the top layer, to allow the new paint to stick to something, that should be fine.

Use panel wipe before you spray so there isn't grease or dirt left, then spray!

yea dont have to remove the paint....but if u wanna, nitromors is the stuff! its great if u dont let it dry, do few layers, keep applying and it'll jus scrape right off! i used it on my wheels, bike frames and pretty much everything else! evil stuff stuff so use gloves, it stings bad and leaves burns!

I've used in on pool paint before, about 10 years ago now, we had to strip an entire 40ft x 20 ft x 8ft deep pool and it was days of agonising burning! I Hate the stuff with a passion!

Sounds a tad simple but try a hot air gun and platic knife..?

i just sanded my winter wheels and sprayed over them and they came out fine...

I'm only doin it cuz I don't want winter ruining my mercs, lot of time effort went into them lol
