mightyvr6 0
highlines produce more power than obd1 vr6's. why? Do all obd2 golfs have 2.9 manifolds?[ Edited Fri Dec 03 2004, 12:10AM ]
binliner 0
OBD2 engines in general (not just highlines) supposedly produce more power as a rule than OBD1 cars... this was something I was told by Vince at Stealth and it's because obd1 & 2 had a different map... obviously all engines are different and not all obd2 cars are more powerful than obd1 and its only a few bhp anyway... but thats the word around the camp fire! mightyvr6 0
doesn't the obd 2/highline have a less restrictive throttle body (no ramp) and is slightly larger than obd1?

VR6Pete 1,455
doesn't the obd 2/highline have a less restrictive throttle body (no ramp) and is slightly larger than obd1?no - The only difference between odb2 and the highline models are the ECU map AFAIK. I dont beleive there are any mechanical differences within the engnie.
acf8181 0
i don't even think theres any difference in the map either pete.usually any extra bhp an OBD2 may have is offset by the addition of air-con. but as said, the bhp differece between obd 1 and 2 is neglegable. binliner 0
i don't even think theres any difference in the map either pete.no offence but as Vince has remapped a few VRs in his time I'd be more inclined to listen to his opinion but this is a debate that has been had a million times already

Slim 0
I quite like the wood, it's like retro cheesyness in a way, I quite fancy a wood trimmed Momo Fighter wheel to compliment the gearknob.
