the short bouble ened lead is the king lead for those (few) of us with distributors. You'll have no need for it.

10mm leads are way to fat for the plastics. Think you can squeeze 7mm, maybe 8mm, in by cutting out the clips. Think everyone else in the situation just uses cable ties.

p.s. I'm going to delete your other post now I've contributed to this thread

Is it a case of the bigger the lead the better?

It's marketing horse schitt mate, save your money. The stock leads are plenty good enough.

People only find improvments from spark related products if the standard parts weren't working properly to begin with.

A match will burn a house down just as easily as a blow torch. Engine power comes from the correct air / fuel mixture, not the spark. A properly set up mixture only needs a minimal spark to ignite it.

yep, agree with Kev, I've got myself a set of 8mm magnecors on mine. fit fine in the plastics, no messing, I only got these as I had dodgy HT leads, and the ones from GSF I got fell bits after a few months, so invested in a decent set, and magnecor offer a repair service which I've taken them up on recently having new ends fitted.

On any car I've had before I've never gone for larger leads and was curious as to what they bring to the table. I would rather buy better quality than just "large".

And ironically the original VW red leads are the best quality ones you can get, bar NONE!!

I can see why folk go aftermarket - it's because the VW leads are stupidly expensive, well over £100 for the set of 6. But they are a good investment as they last for years and work very well.
