That's what I'm trying to do. Before spending £££££ on it for power and cosmetics I want to know it's right mechanically.

Yeah I will do but haven't got the money for the map after buying the car and getting it on the road etc. I'll be keeping the 2.9 tb to put on at a later date.

I'll give that a try tonight Thanks. I think I've managed to narrow it down to either the 2.9 throttle body pulling too much air in or the cam sensor. There's no air leaks and the Maf sensor is new too by the looks of it. Bloody cars lol Pulls like hell other than the hesitating problem.

Would a faulty coil pack course hesitation past 2k rpm As it drive fine upto then. Even though it has a 2.9 throttle body and air intake on a 2.8 obd1. I've only had the car a week and bought as a none runner only needing heater matrix fitting. It's had New rad All new silicone hoses Both new cts New aux water pump New Bremi coil pack and leads Pcv delete replaced with catch can Knock sensor New header tank New thermostat New oil pressure switches Air intake sensor New heater matrix. With the symptoms I don't think it's the throttle body. Hand it scanned last week and no fault

Sound thanks I haven't got the original throttle body so will have to map it.

I got 2 x 5ltr synta quantum just in case as I wasn't sure how much it took. I thought it would be 6ltr and Tps didn't have a 1ltr bottle.

Going to put a full tank of v power nitro in as it does the same thing as adding injector cleaner. But I only put £25 of shell normal fuel in yesterday just to drive around in to see if it's ok. Oh yeah I only ever put shell fuel in and the tank was empty before I put £25 in which took it upto 30ltr.

Took it on the motorway and it didn't want to drive with the revs past 2000 rpm (only went one junction) but below 2000 rpm it's fine. Do I need to set up the 2.9 throttle body and air intake since its on a 2.8 vr ?

It does it at 2000 rpm in every gear.

So I got my Passat vr on Monday. Get the heater matrix in on Tuesday. Dash back in on Thursday Mot'd and taxed on Saturday. Drove it to the nearest shell garage then drove it home. It's been stood over a year. And I haven't taken it over 3000 rpm. In 4th and a little in 5th it bogs down like hesitation then it goes. Oil temp was at 92 and coolant temp was at 90. Is it just a case of driving it for a bit to run it in again. Which I am doing. Not going to take it over 3000 rpm. Or is it something else. There is still some air in the system as the heater box is garrgerling a bit.

Little well big'ish update lol Got the dash back in and most of it connected up. Just didn't have a clue which cables go where on the heater controls. Even took it out in the units yard to see what's what. Needs a abs sersor or clean. Some progress pics. Putting a dash back in is the worse jigsaw puzzle ever :hyst

Got the heater matrix in and engine running. Other than the immobiliser stopping us from firing it up it ran very well. Just need to get the dash back in now Then mot.

Well it's is now in my hands So now need to get cracking and get the heater matrix fitting and service done Get it through the mot and I can start having some fun. Really need to get the coilovers off the red b4 and get them on the vr too Standard height is no good.

What's the specs of these rims and what price are you looking at when you come to sell. I was trying to stay away from the norm like bbs style rims but I can't seem to be able to. They just suit the car to a tee lol

Cheers for the feed back I didn't think the obd1 vr could be mapped so it is a bonus really. I wouldn't just get it mapped I have a list of this to do first. Which you mentioned mk4motionVR6 The only thinks I will be leaving off are the cams. And will be de-cat rather than sports cat. All in good time though.
