had a quick look on the search but how much bulls*it is it too run a s3 box? i kno its a custom prop n the rear diff hanger /frame is a custom cut n weld job ... i read a thread on someone that did a mk2 im sure

well over fueling will more than likely cause bore wash .. as said contaminated oil is useless as it cannot do the job it needs too.. personally id put it back how it was hen it was working fine ... as changed the oil ASAP and run a stabilizer like the Lucas products ... hope for the best .. why did u run the recirc without it being plumed back in the other side ive gotta ask >?

if you call a key specialist .. there's one i use in Birmingham .. he can plug the car in and tell you which part of the system is not communicating correctly then you know which part either needs re coding or changing .

See I thought about converting the rear myself to run different hubs .. I even looked at using a mk4 rear frame .. U ever ran the polo stubs mike? Is there much of a size difference in the mk4 discs compared to the mk3? I was just gonna what you said , mk4 caliper, drilled n grooved disc n braided hose .. Wanna get something sorted soon Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So bought some 17's that will be going to be repaired n then ill paint them myself because I'm tight lol .. Got some calipers n carriers for my brake setup on front just gotta buy new discs n pads .. Looking at mk4 Ali rear calipers for the back .. Sand down n paint my calipers this week N go my gearbox n engine oil change Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
If the reg is fucked and your going to replace it anyways .. Undo the 10mm bolts and remove completely .. Then force the metal brackets on the reg in towards the middle of the door.. The rubber clamps will either move and let the window come free or the window will drop so that you can access the 10mm nuts that clamp the window to the runners Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Apparently the difference is the mk4 is Ali where as the mk3 is steel and the mk4 is not prone to seizing . I have read somewhere about a conversion using bigger discs on the rear BUT as the mk3 uses a taper bearing on the rear I don't fully understand how they work it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

wondering what is the best rear brakes people are using on the VR6's n turbos ... been toying with the ide of modifiying a pair of hubs to work/ fit but wouldnt mind saving myself some time if anyone has any bright ideas... ideally i wanted to run 345mm r32 front n rear brakes .. ive just purchased a 312mm edition 30 brakes ... the discs are scrap as there 5 x 112 but obv 5x 100 will be fine as there still 312mm dia... i kno i need the 6mm plate to centralize the caliper .. so its just rears im left with to sort out ... come on lads whos running what .. whats works n what doe

Take the connectors from the doors they just twist n pull out .. Pull the central locking vacum line .. You can now with the door card removed pull more of the door loom through .. Slide the rubber boot back an inspect for damaged wires .. Also be aware the reg can look fine but there is a clip on the top life that slots into the metal bar of the reg that brakes n jams the small roller wheels that guide the cables .. The lights dim because power is being transfered to the motor and it's consuming voltage so you either have a jammed mech or a weak motor .. Scrap yard jobby .. I have 2 motors an

Ye rear carrier bolts . Well new rear calipers Tuesday I hope . 312mm front brake setup aswell I hope next week .. Had a fu*king mare with windows . Ended up replacing a mech n a door loom after soldering n snapping brittle pins .. Tracing wires . Plus gotta attempt some home made solid engine mounts and still need some 16" wheels .... It's never ending !! Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I know the fronts fit as per the guide I've just seen the 6mm plate trick. My question is do the s3 rear brakes bolt up the same as they looks a great upgrade over the standard items . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

id get a valve removal tool... take the core out her valves on the drive... wait for the phone call .. go round take the wheel off.... go back home have a brew ... re insert core .. blow tyre up ... take the wheel back and say u had the puncture repaired or a part worn fitted ... charge her X amount for the service ... all is well

im not sure on these but specifically but it should have a priming function when the ignition is switched on , so when you turn the y key to i think 2nd stage it should prime the system with fuel and the correct pressure should be at the fuel rail .. so id get someone to put there head near the fuel tank or back seat and listen for the pump noises when ignition switched on ... then id go to the rail and i would check for pressure at the rail using the valve at the end of the rail ... presuming there is no fuel at the rail and no fuel pump noise as your saying there is no power at the wires

realistically you could ring up any head shop or engine builder and ask the question and im sure theyd help you out .

Coil pack and no start Troubleshooting
Jakeyb replied to rbertnitro's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
do you have access to a power probe? they can be bought in basic form from ebay .. a cheap sealey 6v to say 24v tester is around £20 and is ideal for this sort of issue as you can test for power n neg plus you can earth something or power it up so can eliminate wiring issues and or faulty components. the coil could of crack due to excess current passing through and the heat damaged it so beware that there isnt an underlying fault .. personally id be careful where u go from here as miss placed power can damage more items .. -

well in true VR style i went to change the brakes today n wheel bearings and some pr*ck has rounded all the allen key head bolts off so we had a game removing them ... then found both rear calipers seized so after much swearing and having to removed the dust covers we got it all back together but obvs with no dust covers and knowing there fuc*ed wven though they went back eventually im gonna get some new ones .. plus ill get some second hand carriers n get um sanded down n painted so it all looks fresh ... plan for tomorrow is engine oil change n filter again .. its only done about 700 mi
