  1. Ben is meticulous hence I'd like him to do the bodywork at least. I'll probably get the establishment he works at to do some spanner work on it too. I look forward to seeing the nothelle back to its former glory and I think many of us will. It's a bit of a unicorn car that one
  2. Well, that's come from about 40 mins from where I live. Where is it now? Or did I miss that info? If it's North of Watford it must be miles away! [emoji23]
  3. Yes, I will be starting a build thread. Actually Bennyk may as well start the build thread as he'll be doing the bodywork. [emoji2]
  4. I shall be keeping both, ultimately letting the green one go once the black one is up to standard. Plans are to 2.9 and possibly charge the green one plus a general tidy and repair the black one back to how it left the factory.
  5. I know the oe wings are like hens teeth. I've got an original new drivers side, I just need to find an original passenger side now. I'm in a quandary though, which car to put them on?! [emoji30]
  6. The car won't be on the rd any time soon jack so it's a job to say if it's using coolant as such. I'll keep monitoring it whilst I'm messing with it. Fingers crossed and all that! Here's a couple more pics for interest. [emoji41]
  7. Welcome to the club. Highline's only came in mulberry and black so it's not a proper one. You could still spec your vr6 with leather though so it's as good as a highline, just without a few other bits of extra trim. 3 or 5 door? Got any pics to share?
  8. Have they gone on with an even gap etc gilly? Were they the insurance approved quality ones? [emoji106]
  9. You've got to part with approx £600 then fella by the sound of it! [emoji41]
  10. With a £200 set of coilies you'll get a years warranty and probably a dubious ride quality. Some people absolutely swear by the cheaper sets and to be fair they do the job. If you stretch a bit further you can get AP's which is what I was going to buy for my golf. They're approx £360-£400 a set, have a years warranty although some people say the ride is too harsh with these, vmaxx are a similar price with a years warranty. If you can afford to, get some damping adjustable ones, at least you can decide how stiff you want to run them. I have Spax rsx fitted and I find them ok.
  11. Update: Car has thrown maf, low voltage code and abs codes only. I changed the maf from the green goddess to the nothelle and that code has gone. It did improve the running but was still a bit lumpy. I cleaned the old maf and refitted it and the car although still a bit lumpy is an improvement from earlier in the week. I also cleaned the TB whilst I was at it. I know the car has a poor earth so I'll need to get that sorted sooner than later and I also noticed that there's plenty of water laying in the exhaust tips. Next job is a sniff test as I suspect head gask
  12. Not yet. Why would the bad running disappear above 2500k if there was anything sinister. Are you thinking HG or worse?
  13. Absolutely, it will be having a flush once running right. I think I'll stick a water pump and new stat on too and possibly water temp sensor. I'll be checking the plugs tomorrow and looking it over generally. I may change fuel filter too and see if that improves anything.
  14. When I start it, I have to give it some gas and it runs like a bag of poo. I'll start fault finding tomorrow. I know the car had 2 new Pistons and new rings, shells etc about 30k miles ago and I also know it's had an overheating issue, I don't know how bad. I do know it's had a kseal put in the header. No mayo on oil cap
  15. Well I thought I'd ask my oc brethren if they've come across this fault at all. As you probably know the nothelle golf is a bit poorly at the moment and that's the way I bought it. Initially I thought the car had a massive misfire but after starting it last night i noticed that yes, there is a misfire but it's not the major running fault. The biggest fault is the fact that the car runs very lumpy below 2500rpm and stinks of petrol via the exhaust. When idling it runs very off balance possibly only running on 4 cylinders. There are no fault codes although it will be plugged into vcds tomorrow
  16. It must mean there's a set of hella quads coming up for sale very soon though! Go for it jay, see if you can get the early style grille though, it'll look "sick" on your motor!
  17. Mmm, try and have some of your own ideas jay so I don't end up with double vision! [emoji23]
  18. And for this mod, you'll require a squeezy washing up bottle, some double sided sticky tape and some toilet roll holders! Useful info big j!
  19. Yeah, this shot was taken at butlins this week. I've been hitting the gym hard, as you can tell! Lmao [emoji23]
  20. How much for an oil service on an evo8. That put me off buying an evo6 a few years back.
  21. She would be bored to tears H, the better half just about pokes up with my collection of vehicles and Defo won't want to look at anyone else's motor...... Unless it's a near perfect mulberry with low miles! [emoji2]Jokes apart, my boss won't be in attendance! = all the more fun for me!!!
  22. Haha, I thought I'd give you a bit of abuse to make sure you were paying attention! I reckon I'll only be up for the sunday. [emoji106]
