  1. Pritty sure thats part of your old gasket, dont leave it in dig it out and throw it away.
  2. Also a little of subject but when a vr is turboed do you need to fit a valve to the hose that goes to the brake servo from the manifold so the servo dosnt see boost?
  3. I take it the ports on a 24 valve are different to a 12 then. Apart from schimmel manifold what ebay jobs are good. I see theres a ta technics manifold and the only dealings with ta technics ive had was fitting the worst coilovers ive ever seen to a mates polo.
  4. yeah I've seen these for sale and wondered what they're like. makes sense like that. they're cast aren't they? are you running the coolant feed to the throttle body or laughed it off?
  5. The diameter of the coolant pipe that go to the throttle body arnt that wide so I feel it will restrict the amount of coolant running through the turbo. I may be wrong are people actully taking it from there?
  6. Ok and where are people returning it to? Could I T the return to the matrix?
  7. Oh dear, you able to get around it?
  8. Where are people taking the coolent feeds and returns from? Heater matrix ok?
  9. As the title says, im building a turbod vr and what are the ebay short runner manifolds like? shall i buy one as its only another 2/300 more and should help make the piping tidyer? Yay or nay?
  10. And a tog welded lambda boss as they never seem to have those either.
  11. Measured them Just now, by the way got a spare 6 branch if any one wants for £50 comes with bungs lol
  12. I dont think these are lambda bungs they were too small. Ive got a 6 branch in my garage which is not being used ill have a measure up and tell you the size.
  13. Have you checked the coil pack is switching and the edu is sending a pulse to the coil to switch to earth? if it isn't then check the wiring back to the ecu if thats ok then maybe your edu is faulty if your injectors are pulsing because the crank sensor is giving a signal.
  14. If your getting the vehicle mapped standard fpr is fine. If your trying to get around not mapping it then a rising rate is a crude way of getting fueling but you will need a air fuel ratio sensor to set it up properly to make sure its not going to run lean or to rich. As for the injectors id say they are too small altho I'm sure someone would argue they're ok. but considering you can get a set of 6x Bosch greens new for £175 on ebay now it won't break the budget to look into a new set. Altho again people have there own ideas of whats good and whats not. Depends on your power goals. Also look i
  15. Deatschwerks surge tank? is this in fitment to a standard tank or is it a fuel cell in the boot job?
  16. forged pistons and rods.... Im interested even tho I'm building it with a spacer atm but hand spares if the price is right. few questions. what diameter pistons are on offer for the 12v vr6? and what would i be looking at for a set of forged rods and pistons? how many people have you got together number wise so far?
  17. Do the siemens injectors have the same plug? Or do you need to change the plugs? also the inline fuel pumps wheres the best place to put them.
  18. Hi what are people running for injectors and fuel pump wise on turbo 12 valves? I've got a garret gt3582r turbo so I'm sure it'll get enouph air but I'm after a decent fuel set up now. I know theres the Walbro 255 and bosch pump but was wondering if anything is now the done thing. want a set up which will have room for improvement in the future. I hear Siemens are now the in thing??
  19. Even tho this thread is old thought id update you all. About a month ago I forgave the vr6 and calmed down after it being parked for 6 months or so and pulled the engine out and striped it down all the bores were glazed over and fat lip at the top and generally a bit tired. Managed to get a set of 2.9 pistons and sent the block off for a re bore. Also turboing it whilst its apart too.
  20. Nice work man. Would be cool if we could get parts for these.
  21. One of the main power feeds to the coil comes from the ignition switch chances are you "hot wiring" could have finished the coil off. Lets hope the coil is the only thing that was melted.
  22. Tests were done on maf sensors between a qulity unit and a budget item and they showed that the internals of a budget maf sensor were very poor electricronics. This resulted in lost horsepower and increased fuel consumption. You dont need to go to vw to get one just make sure its an equivalent make like bosch.
