No idea of duty cycles but I do know when I make the next change to rods and pistons and a GT35r turbo I will be changing the injectors to Asnu 500 or 550 injectors, I have to ask my mapper as he tells me what to buy.. I am looking to run 450 ish bhp.

I am running an AUE with a turbo at 5-7 psi, all I have done is increase fuel pressure via a regulator and had it mapped, pump and injectors are stock, 285 bhp and no problems. http://www.vr6oc.com/forum/topic/41399-swivelonits-mk-4-vr6t-4-motion/

I got mine from Ilexa here is a link, it does seem expensive but the support you get from Ross Tech and constant software updates make it a reasonable purchase IMO. https://www.ilexa.co.uk/diagnostic-tools/vag-com-vcds.html

New pads please
Swivelonit replied to Gwr corrado's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
I had DS2500's in my Golf, they lasted for less than 200 miles. Feared claimed it was all my fault for not bedding them in, once I proved I had bedded them in properly by way of in car video footage they then said the pads fell apart because I had washed the car too much and the metal content in the pads had rusted and made them fall apart! Complete tossers who do not stand by their product. That said I am now running DS3000's and they are great (I do not wash my car anymore incase the pads rust) -

Liking the rear tie bars but I want to concentrate on the front end first, camber and caster adjustment, as understeer is creeping in now the forward speeds are higher. I find the rear very sure footed and there is very little drama when on track, usually a good stab on the brakes trail braking to the apex, back end goes a little light and then straight on the power, this gives a nice slight slide out to the exit of the corner and that is it! I have spun the car in the wet at Oulton Park and Cadwell park but never in the dry, it just grips and pushes the car forward, without going to the gr -

I do not use the Golf everyday so I guess it would be many years before I wear out a timing chain, I have a BMW for running about. I am sure a timing chain kit can be sourced or just swap the engine for another variant of the 2.8 VR, they are cheap enough. The short runner I bought from TurboParts.DE I assume it is the same as the BDE as it bolted straight on with no issue. TT wishbones will make setting up for track much easier than the standard wishbones. -

Why do I need a new timing chain? -

I am not going R32 head, I don't see the point, I have done the low boost set up and I have to say the power delivery is good, low down torque complimented by a bit of boost just when it is needed all for relatively low cash outlay. I already have a short runner so no need for the VAG intakes. My next step will be the final step, once it is done it is done, handling will then be on the cards. The goal is circa 400 bhp as this will be ample and still drivable on track. My shopping list is as follows; GT35r turbo 0.82 Asnu Injectors Rods Pistons Larger intercooler Map That is it, no -

Engine is AUE and I have polybushed the front end, not touched the rear end as there are so many bushes to do, it would take me forever, no play in them so left them well alone. I went after some TT lower wishbones as these are different to the pressed tin ones fitted as standard. -

Already running a turbo with a low boost map, only 5 psi on stock internals, currently has 280bhp and about the same NM. -

Golf has been to Bedford this weekend to take part in How Fast again, competition was fierce with a 510 horse power Skoda Yeti taking the win, covering 1.8 miles in a mere 1 minute 24 seconds, my fat Golf managed a 1 minute 31 so a fair bit slower, I did bag 5th overall out of 18 cars. Two things were highlighted at Bedford, the need to loose more weight and the need to introduce more power! I was going to fit the spacer plate and run more boost along with new injectors and a map however I feel the head spacer is a band aid and not a good modification even though it is a much che -

Here is the Yeti that passed pretty much everything that went on track. https://youtu.be/CaxI0kp7yC8 and in with the nutters, rules, what rules, keep an eye out for the off roading bit. https://youtu.be/k4BW8gZLzbA A lowered and very quick Yeti -

In answer to the question I did not take my Golf but I did get to go out as a passenger in the Yeti, it is incredible and it certainly made a few people with high spec cars feel a little inferior. Weather stayed dry and CC have resurfaced the circuit, all nasty bumps have gone, new surface has given better grip too. My Golf will be at Bedford next Saturday for HOW FAST, there is still a few places left on our session, it is reserved for just Briskoda, let me know if you fancy it. -

I will be there all day with the Briskoda forum. A new Yeti is getting an outing on track, it has been modified to run 510bhp so should be a sight to see on track. -
Not a road car no and no cage yet, this is something I have to get done. I have everything out, sound deadening, door skins and roof lining etc, small exhaust instead of the huge back box, I will keep nibbling away at bits and pieces.

I have a question about weight reduction. Those of you that frequent the strip will know all too well that weight is an unnecessary evil, what have you done to remove as much of it as possible? I have a 4 motion MK4 and it is a heavy beast, even after stripping loads of things out of it, what else that is necessary can I remove from the car? I don't run it on the strip, I use it on the track.

I am interested in a set for my AUE 24 valve 2.8, send me a price, very interested. Would be interested even if you don't manage a group buy they will still be cheaper than JE etc

You should notice a bog difference when the new discs and pads are on, did you clean up the callipers and grease them? -

Change your fluid also, I used an easy bleed and changed all the fluid, easy enough to do just take your time cracking off the bleed nipples. -
Will you not be at Rockingham with everybody else from Briskoda? 21st June http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/341662-rockingham-speedway-21st-june-2015/
-
I am in, would prefer a weekend than a week day. 21st June is a definite no as it is the Briskoda annual Mega Meet at Rockingham this year, full track day, show and shine competition etc. End of May early June for me please.

I got my braided hoses from HEL, I rang them as I fitted after market callipers, if you speak to them and tell them the length required and fitting type they will make them to your specification. http://www.helperformance.com
