    Yeh your right craggsy, an the gearing sure as hell don't help the situation. Tbh I'm under no illusions. My Audi had a 1.8t in an that shifted an was bigger than a polo. Ill be satisfied.with the fact that the only thing both of us could hear was the vr6 goin full chat ;-)

    Bizarrely vr6 seems to be overly expensive. I had Audi 1.8t Celica gt4 an where both cheaper than vr yet both where far easier to drive bloody fast

    She is getting new fuel filter full tank of optimax, some fuel cleaner an tb alignment this weekend. Hopefully that should pep her up a bit

    Got put in my place by a 2007 polo gti this morning :-( Only off round about onto duel carriage way up.to 70 but the vr6 had no more to give an the polo was pullin away all day long :-(

    Inspired by another thread, just be interesting what other people see in there vr. My water gauge sits bang in the middle never moves once up to temp An I see oil temps around 92 to 100 in daily driving. Even when pushing hard or in traffic

    yeh i got the VW metal removal tool and i got a full socket set which im sure includes a spark plug socket. ill try to take my time, this is trouble with it being my daily. im always working to a timescale

    Cheers for the info, B&B componants my local vag supplier quoted me £6+vat for fuel filter so i hope thats a genuine one ill have to ask ill have a look over the rocker gasket but im guessing being 96 ob2 it might be the later one Also ill prob just take some pics of the sparks an post them on here to see what people think

    Tensioner was one other thought as the chains sound pretty healthy at the moment and any "preventative" measures i can do help keep my paranoia at bay i should probably get some prices on all this first an work out what i can afford to to do as well
