ok mate not bothered on breaking ball joint as its mullered anyway is it easy to replace once old ones out without damaging the new ball joint

it had new engine with mounts just over year ago so sure its not that and plus it want doing it before the wheel bearing change mate .....wheel was straight although had the humming of the fu@cked bearing

just add one more thing if steering wheels not center it MUST need tracking done rite???? but would this cause vibration??

hope some one can help me here cars fine until i hit over 60mph and steering wheel starts to vibrate ....the steering wheel is not dead centre either slightly to the left it sits when in straight line .....i recently had wheel bearings done and wonder if my mechanic has altered something by mistake .......im thinking maybe tracking or wheels balanced but i only had new tyres few months back and whels was balanced then???????/? also mechanic said i need a ball joint and lower arm bushe would these make it vibrate my exp with ball joints is just a bit of knocking over bumps at low speed ?????? a

just wondered is the e.c.u on the mk3 golf easy to locate and remove is it a quick job or a very technical one as looking to remove one as a spare off an old vr6 before its scrapped as a spare thanks......

what sort of improvements we talking about ??? i wouldnt even know if mines an OBD2 or not or what the diff is just that its something to do wityh throttle bodys and they are generally the new vrs..........be intresting to see what others say for sure

Been reading on some other sites there is around 10 bhp difference the obd 2 being the more powerful and they regulary push out 185 on rolling roads and has been known rarely to see one push out 190 as i said read this on other sites think one was wikianswers???? is this true as id trust my info from this site more but they seemed pretty certain about this!! and also mine would be a obd2 as it is a 1997 right???

ok thnaks i always check wheel nuts after a visit to arage (lets call it peace of mind..................i mite just get tracking done then mate i take it them 3 bolts are undone to do that aswell and then tightened once straight??

just googled it and my vr has actually done the circumference of the world in mile thats some bloody acheivment id say ????? and i reckon she could go again 24.901.55 miles thats gotta be worth a shot out

just had my front wheel bearings done ............for one now steering wheel is not completely straight when driving in straight line and also get vibration after 60 mph ..i only had wheels balanced with new tyres 3 months ago ..so im geussing 1 , the trackings been knocked out whilefriend did bearings or ive somer how lost some weights off one of front wheels........mechanic did say i need new ball joint passenger side and bushes to wishbone drivers side ? could this cause they vibration and unsteddyness on motorway?????

keep seeing these videos on youtube with vrs revving rite threw to the end of the red ?????? i wouldnt mind that is there a restrictor i havent been told about

mate i had this very same problem couple weeks ago and my mechanic said it was he flange on hub was worn and knocking against the abs sensor i also did bearing to be sure and its totally gone now ......it sounded like a stone was tuck in tread of tyre and was def rotational so id say do bearing and check this flange ......it sort of looks like a small flywheel.... -
im 5 door mate and whats the deal with the elec sunroof ,interior lights etc .......and do i have to remove the sunroof then ???

roof lining is tatty in my vr just wanted some advice on how easy it is to remove and replace as have located a nice clean one its all ready dropped slightly at rear as u open the boot and also at front slightly ...... thanks

got offered a mint one other day and its still there at my mates scrapyard 200 quid he wanted and was in excellent condition !!! ive spent so much on her recently gonna have wait a bit till i can warrant spending more ...........how much anyway mate ill pm u if things change my situation changes like the wind in my trade .....
