  3. been looking at a few early vr6s for a little project ....hate the skirt arches kits they used to have standard all they do is hide the rust last 2 i looked at looked good until u see behind the arches at least with newer ones (obd2 ) u can see what ya getting lol ..........do love the arche kits tho sure ill find a gooden
  4. also had konis on my fiat uno turbo (now they are rare to see nowadays) and they was wicked car was a fu#king go kart
  5. id go konis for extra bit of doe but gmax have been great to me and can certainly take a beating
  6. yeah think they just tighten without the hex hole and are a pattern part but seem good value ........we will soon see when im asking for help cos my wheels have fallen off lol lets hope not tho hey
  7. i have a set of gmax coilovers and have found the ride very good . u have to be realistic with bad roads which with all coilovers u will get a bit of rigidness ..but the car handles great and are very easy to play with .......i was stupid low and it wasnt for every day use i raised it 15 mm all round and still looks low and drives great so i would def recommend these
  8. the ball joint i bought had no allen key thread if u go on ebay and type in (golf vr6 ball joint ) its second down with gold bolts and a seller from cornwall .........only thing was the gold bolt screws he supplied was to short so had to use the existing ones !!!!!!!!!!!!! but there is no thread at all visible and seems ok maybe they have new designs out now im not sure .......but ill def check tommorow to be sure a abd keep u posted ..thanks for your knowledge pal ..

  10. ok thanks lukey just couldnt see where i could even put this alan key .....i literally did it with all my strength with my hands and thats alot !!!! and then held spanner tight and hammered spanner until it wouldnt move no more and i t didnt spin!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks for concern ive also just been out down my favourite back roads and leathered it for 10 miles and hit some roundaboutd hard and still feels good ...............what do u reckon mate ??????? give nut a quick test tighten again??

  12. all done tony was a piece of piss once old one was out ......had to smash the hub with sum major force a number of times to release old one must of been on there for years as shot to bits .........dont know why people said i needed a alan key or jack to stop it spinning i just did all the 13s bac k up once in place then tightened the top balljoint bolt until was super tight think its a 17 mill i used a 3/4 what ever that is and job done!!! took her for a good drive and the improvement is massive ..........the wheel shifted left to right when u grabbed it and shook it now no movement at all....

  14. just separated gear knob from gaiter ..........just need a good pull didnt have to take gaiter and plastic out at all just unscrewed knob and yanked (that sounds so gay lol) it just has a little plastic neck on it which holds it all together ........got nice gear knob but with out this neck piece the gaiter will just sag wont it ???? thanks again oldmandon u have an answer to everything .........
  15. does anyone know how too separate the gear knob from the gaiter .........theres a little metal ring underneath the knob that seems u have to change the whole thing (gaiter and knob) only wanna change the gear knob??
  16. i have same prob mine takes about 3-4 seconds to start thought it was lazy starter motor ....but its had new one just before i bought car and is shiny new i checked battery cell iodnised water levels and one cell was empty and another half full toppped these up and now its starts loads better !!!!! sorry bit off the subject of crank sensor .....but thought it mite be worth a look for u but if u have owned the car years you have prob had loads of diff batterys and not the case!!
  17. payed peanuts for it mate with no m.o.t and tax 300 quid bloke was gutted when he heard it had sailed threw m.o.t with only 2 advisorys all she needed was a bit of TLC and she gets plenty now beleive me fixed every fault to car since and with new wings she comes up lovely after a wax .........i know last owner and hes pig sick when he sees it in such great condition and the car hasnt broke down on me once so far..........wasnt looking for a vr and never owned a vw in all the 40 or so cars ive had just stumbled across it and was aroused by its sound and big engine......now im a huge fan of vws
  18. yeah thanks again i payed 300 quid for it last summer no mot or tax .........went sailed straight threw mot and has never broke down once ......love her to death now :-) well worth all time and money ive spent to maintain her .i know bloke who sold it to me and he was absoloutly gutted when he heard it went threw m.o.t and is green with envy when he sees it driving about all shint and fixed all she needed was some TLC and i give her plenty
