Welcome to the club mate. Get some pics up

People just aren't willing to search to keep these beasts on the road

Good luck with the one your going to look at mate. I wouldn't worry too much on mileage. I'd be more interested in service history to see how the engine has been cared for. Dig through the receipts to see if there's any proof of timing chain work etc. Like Pete said take a look through the buying guide either print it out or make a mental note on things to look out for. And if the silver ones isn't upto much I'm sure there's a couple on here for sale

Wheel guru...advice needed
daveyboy replied to oettingerA4's topic in Wheels, Brakes, Suspension and Steering
I agree with above on ride quality with 18's. I like turbo twists tho especially 3 piece. I know the PCD adapters need to be 5x100 to 5x130 (5x100 is the vw PCD and 5x130 is the porsche) -
Pick your toys up mate, no need to throw them all out of the pram. You've been offered a low mileage block and crank minus pistons and rods and people have said there's plenty of running engines on ebay for sale. To be fair these cars have been knocking around for 20+ years now, not gonna be many low mileage ones out there, it's like looking for a needle in a haystack. Your best bet if you've got a fresh head and chains would be to get that low mileage block and crank off six appeal get some new pistons and rods and build it up and hey presto brand new engine or as near as your gonna get to a

daveyboy replied to paceo's topic in General Chat
Hmm I'd get a sniffer test done on it but if it's only got 36k I wouldn't of thought the head gasket has gone. -

daveyboy replied to paceo's topic in General Chat
