  1. Okay, Here's a dumb question, what is the pcd on the 5 stud wheels? is it 100 or something different? also what is the et offset? Having pc probs can't search properly, gonna teach my laptop to fly soon........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. I can't give advice, but I'm going to watch the thread carefully, as I have also thought about getting a spare engine and doing a complete rebuild. But I was also wondering what sort of power the drivetrain/clutch/box etc can safely handle, as I can't go into 4 wheel drive etc. So wel done you on starting my next project....lol......... lets hope it all goes well......guarantee yours will be finished BEFORE mine by a LONG way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. You just confirmed that a larger alloy and tyre is lighter than a smaller alloy and tyre. I'd guess cheep crappy wheels would be heavier as they aren't designed as well, and would be using cheaper ingredients in the mix so would need more for the equivalent strength of a more expensive wheel, hence increased weight.... right/wrong??
  4. WHAT...HOW MUCH.....FOOOOOOOOK I could buy 2 highlines AND insure them for that.....Thats legalised ROBBERY..............Something needs to be done about obscene insurance prices.
  5. If as you increase wheel size you reduce tyre profile then yes the rolling radius should be the same, and the speedo will read correctlyish. It's when people mess with profiles that problems occur. On the increasing alloy topic, surely a larger alloy wheel with a smaller tyre would weigh less than a smaller alloy with a larger tyre, as tyres weigh a ton!!!!
  6. I think your graph is back to front, surely the without hole reading should be first, this would then show a possitive gain in thge drag as you say, but the way it is shown, would suggest drag goes down.................!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    water leak

Rear? I had water in my FRONT passengers footwell, at first I thought it was coming through the pollen filter area, turned out to be the sunroof drains bloked.. I checked the headlining on a whim, and it was wet under the passenger visor. So I checked the drians, and they seemed very dirty on the passengers side so I cleaned it out and hopefully have sorted it, but it hasn't rained yet (TYPICAL) The rear lights or boot/hatch seal seems a bit too far back for your problem, you'd also have water in the boot. could be the rear door seal. But feel your headlining to see if its damp. Also get some
  8. Are you asking for a copy, or the info? I've got a dyno read from Saturday before I put on an induction kit, and one from after the kit was put on.

  18. Have look at the thread about the R32 sump conversion with the R32 oil pump. Think that would be a good bet for you......I don't know where the thread is, sure someone on here will know..............
  19. The oil light and beeping was as a result of going round the corner,. The golf doesn't have a baffled sump so basically what little oil you had in there moved to one side away from the oil pickup hense the beep. for the very short amount of time that this happened and as soon as you straightened up it the oil warning light and beep stop , I doubt very much that your current problems are related. The misfire is probably down to the nicked cable you mentioned, I had exactly the same, in the drk I could see a small spark as the lead arced out. Changed the leads and had no problems. as for not tur
