    out of interest if you dont need the piping for that air con vacuum can you just put a bung over where it connects to the brake serbvo vacuum line ?

    yeah ive tested it with two new bulbs just looking at the bulb with it plugged in and nothing so its the looms linking to it or i had two dud bulbs ! will try another bulb....

    ha not far off its 4mpg off road or if your pushing on a bit and 6mpg for normal driving , being on guernsey means its fine with low miles and also only £120 per year on insurance !

    yeah its a 4.2l straight 6 rolls royce, sounds awsome especially since its only got exhaust mani on !

    not a vw but what im working on along side my vr conversion she was used in northern island then came over to guernsey after being used in a couple of films , most famous being 'the crying game'. Weighs a good 6 tons as this one is fully armoured engine was seized solid but managed to turn it eventually and start the old girl ! carburettor was knackered though so completely re built and going to be running and tuning engine this weekend i hope here it is after being sat in a field for 9 years rear wheels off one of the sandblasted and painted rims being fitted to rufurbed tyre Towed it

    doors on my 3 door mk3 golf are saggy as f!ck , where can i get the correct shims from ? i have read the guide on fixing the problem just couldnt find the right shims !

    the heater control light isnt working now even though the bulb is fine , any ideas ?

    hey guys still trying to sort one out , might be getting someone to pick one up for me whilst in uk. im NOT after slam panel just the radiator housing, its the last thing on my list so bit annoying !

    i have literally just asked this question as im doing the same , you could use the hubs and driveshafts but i just swapped the whole subframe - real easy trust me !

    cheers bungy , will have a proper go at this to try and save money that i need for other parts. Some have a bit to grab onto so i guess mole grips ?

    ha yeah i'll give that a go before searchin for some second hand ones. how hards putting new studs in ? never done it before

    then put new studs in or just use bolts ?

    the studs on the exhaust manifold that attach it to the down pipe have been snappped by previous owner. whats the best thing to do ?

    are you just changing cause you prefer manual or cause auto box is still not workinmg properly ?

    ok then since the gti driveshaft boots are knackered is it worth using the vr6 ones into the existing gti hubs ? so press gti driveshafts out put vr6 driveshafts in ? and do you know if the brake calipers & pads are the same on a vr6 as 2.0 gti ? sorry for all the questions

    im making a vr6 from a 2.0 gti ,this gti i have has 5 stud hubs and as i have read these will be exactly the same as the vr6 ones? does this mean i just have to change the driveshafts ? will the bearings in the gti hub be suitable for the vr6 ?

    decided to just straighten them out instead of fitting new ones, got them nearly spot on. its going well just waiting for final price on water pump and front rad panel - rad panel will be bloody expensive to get over here. Engine & gearbox out, hydraulic clutch in , all mounts changed and wiring loom is layed out ready to go in. need to source a new vr6 exhaust mani as the last person to have it snapped all the studs
