    My mk3 vr is developing a random misfire when it's cold outside if I go any more than half throttle, it misfires for about a minute then stops and goes back to running smoothly? It also has a problem with cold starting as the revs drop to around 200 an it either stalls or goes back up to idle speed? I am thinking this could be something to do with oil not getting around fast enough on start up? Any ideas will be appreciated!

    Alright well if I run that with around 10psi would a 38mm wastegate be good enough? Sorry to steal you thread by the way!

    I think I am going to run a small turbo with high boost? So any tips, thinking about a t3 or is that too large?

    So what is the general feeling then? That auto glym is good for the price and that a deep cut polish is needed? Clay bar good or no good?

    You would have to wear the rings in though for about 500 miles of sensible driving without booting it all the time, otherwise they will not wear in properly and you will just have to do them again!

    The coolant is now purple! It's g12 plus plus and it's the only on vw do now and it doesn't really matter as long as your flushing it but it will also mix with red coolant and blue!

    I was gonna turbo the one that's currently in my car but I may just use this spare on and put in forged pistons and rods and get hd springs etc get it running about 8/8.5 to 1

    I have just bought a vr engine and am wondering what to do with it! My options are recondition it and sell it? Build it for lower compression and use that engine for my turbo build? Put the engine in something like a mk1 or mk2 golf or even a scirocco? If any one else has any other ideas then it would be appreciated! Let me know what you think!
