  1. Whats the score with this? When is the track open from/till?
  2. Very true, vts's have quite good gearing for B road blasting. But on a straight road I would expect to pull away from them every time.
  3. I hear it all the time. Admittadly from people 'out of the loop' "Hey mate is that a real VRG" Yes....yes it is... :@
  4. If I hear one more person call it a 'VRG' I won't be held responsible for my actions!!
  5. It's like a compression test but it gives you a percentage of combustion leakage on each cylinder. And a clue as to where it's leaking from. True I wouldn't think it's likely to be blowing by the rings at 93k. But possibly through the valve seats, depending on if you had them re-cut and lapped, and how good the worksmanship was. I often see 'proffessionally built' classic Porsche engines with less than 20,000 miles on them leaking past valve seats due to shoddy work.
  6. Vagcom won't tell you if your losing compression anywhere mate, I'd think about having a leakdown test. There are lots of things that could cause power loss that won't throw up a fault code.
  7. If your losing to saxo's mate, something is wrong... It regularly surprises and amazes me what a VR6 can keep up with. My list includes keeping up with an 09 plate BMW 750D for a long while Also beaten Cupra's and a Rover Coupe. Given many 1.8T's a fright. BMW 325's etc etc. A healthy VR will punch its weight, you would be surprised. Dont waste your money on an R32 because you will find it really isnt much quicker at all. And they feel very heavy and very boring in comparison.
  8. Looks like a good example. Well done chap :-)
  9. Deffinetly in for this, unless alien obduction or an act of god happen between now and then:-d
  10. Sounds good dude, 325lb springs, yikes lol. I think bilstein do a similar kit, (nurburgring tuned and tested apparently. fit a lot of them to 911's at work.
  11. Interesting, might be an option then if they fit under 16's.
  12. Looking good fella. Out of interest, why TVR springs with VR coilovers?
  13. I want to run a maximum of 16" wheels (running 16X7.5 Pro races at the minute.) So im limited to approx 305mm disks at most. Also, the aftermaket sets do have the added advantage of being lightweight, especially with the alluminium hubs.
  14. This has been getting up my nose lately too. I drive 70 miles a day to get to work and back. It takes roughly £400 a month out of my wages JUST to get to and from work! £1.26.9 for the lose :-(
  15. Hahaha unfortunately im planning in advance of a few months wages. But its on the cards at some point.
  16. Has anyone tried any aftermarket front brakes on their VR's? I have been looking at the TAR.OX and AP racing 4 and 6 pot calipers. Tarox do a 'budget kit with 6 pot calipers but cast 1 piece brake disks (as apposed to 2 piece discs with an alluminium hub) for just over £1000 or with the 2 piece disks for £1600 AP racing do a 4 pot kit with 2 piece disks for £1641 inc VAT. Both manufacturers include a fitting kit and braided hoses etc with their kits. I just wondered if anyone has tried either of the above kits and what their experiences were with them.
  17. If you want it to handle better I would leave the interior in.
  18. Cheers mate, managed to get them ordered! Part numbers are: 1H0853986 B41 1H0853985 B41 B41 is the colour code for satin black.
  19. Looking very clean fella, good progress.
  20. My VR (OBD2 3 door with all interior and trim) weighed 1192kg's
