  3. I have it on mine, i think its only for sound proofing
  4. As you look in your engine bay on the right hand side under the inlet manifold. You will see a plastic mold type cover which holds 3 sensor sin it if you have a/c or 2 if not. I remove my coil pack which is just 4 allen bolts remove them then just lift out of the way no need to removed plug leads so i could see the allen bolts for the thermostat hosuing
  5. I have vag-com mate am only about 20-30 mins from you. I have repiled to a few of your posts. If you want me to plug it in for you, i will do you would have to bring your motor to me .
  6. Its got to be your fans then mate, ethier shorting out somewhere or overloading making the fuse pop. Why dont you wire up the fans direct using an in line fuse on the wiring. If that pops you know your fans are knacked. If this does not pop the fuse then you have a short in you wiring, which would not be easy to find i don't think. Did you manage to hook up the car to vag com to see if their is any faults on you ecu ???

  9. Do you have vag com. Your ecu main be running in safe mode, due to a sensor fault. I have vag com and am only about 30 mins from you. I would be more than willing to do it for you if you can get to mine.
  10. Had the same problem on my wifes mk3 golf gti. The garage had no clue without charging me big money to look into. I found the problem was the maf sensor. I unplugged it took it for a drive and the car ran alot better. So i knew it was that . You can try it and it wont cost you a penny. You never know ?

  12. If you need the fans to work just pull the plug on the fan switch which is located at the top of your rad black plug it will be. Then get a piece of wire and bridge the pins on the plug. This should help you get the mot if you cant fix it, Try diff pins you will get a low fan speed and a high one.
  13. I got my rplacement yellow sensor from eurocarparts. At first they gave me one with the blue band which didnt work then they gave me one with a yellow band which works the fans. But like i said am still have problem with my tamp gauge .It may be the sensor am not sure the main thing for me at the mo is my fans are working when they should be. Ring them and ask for the yellow one online does not give you the 2 . Let me know how you get on i may be able to sort my temp gauge out with something you have done
  14. I thought if the module was faulty then the fans would not work at all.But he says he as had the fans working.
  15. Yeah i was going to get the work done in 2 stages like the new clutch chains then have the spacer put in while that work was being done. Then get the charger done at a later stage. Just wasnt sure putting a spacer in was good on stock without a charger or turbo. Or should i just wait till i can get it all done at once.
  16. Thinking about this alot, i think i may start at the base before charging ie new clutch, new chains and put spacer in. Would the spacer plate make any differance to a stock engine ???
  17. If you are getting your fans on by linking them to the batt, then it should'nt be your module. I thought they was all to do with oil temps and so on. I have just had a load of trouble with my fans not working temp gauge not working. What i did was replace the blue 2 pin sensor and the 4 pin yellow temp sensor all located in the thermostat housing. Still nothing till i reset the ecu and now my fans work but am still puzzeled with the temp gauge. Hope some of this may help

  19. Just doing some more read up on chargers, will i need to upgrade my fuel pump as well. Just wanted to get a full cost together.
  20. Cheers for that, would a stage1 charger be ok without putting a spacer plate in.
  21. At the moment it would have to be one or the other. Which one would you go with ?
  22. After pricing this lot up, maybe it would be better to save a little more and maybe get a charger. Dont know ? Anyone had the pleasure of experiencing both set ups.
