Finally going for the real power route Hope it makes more than the charger -
Im running MS2 on mine and it works fine...

The new project, got my 9" out again... :)

This is the most extreme project ever surely!! Good luck with this, sure it will be as great as the last! -
Haha yea I know it looks very close there but when in the car the oil line is tied back far away. Also all heat wrapped now. I do miss the sound of the open wastegate but being able to turn up at track days and not worry is well worth it.
-
Ive got a overheating problem at the moment. My car wont run at a temperature cool enough when cruising along the motorway. Oil temperature is fine. Im worried my head cooling pump has stopped working, would this create a blockage? Is it safe to remove these and just fit a T piece?
-
Next up was sorting the downpipe side of things. Ive always run external wastegate which I love as my exhaust is very quiet and then loud when on it but ive decided that I dont want the worry of failing any noise regs if I ever go for higher boost. So time to make the pipes meet. Turbo Working out where the pipe will meet marking roughly where it will meet Test fitting starting 600 years of file work later Left downpipe side on and sprayed inside to give me the area that needed drilling and filing out Matched Final test fit before tac weld Finally all welded up Also painted

Not having much luck with that charger! Will you be staying supercharged or going turbo next time? -

Update to this ! I did the Bedford track day final and loved it. Had a great time and was good to see so many other VAG cars on track and also did a great job and showing all of my cars problems. -Brake fluid boiling -General lack of handling -Water spraying as feeder tank hose moved -Oil temp at 130 -Brake vacuum pipe melting on way back -Clutch cable snapped -Boost leak so only 4psi on the day Overall a great day though haha. Was great to see the speed of some of the ABF powered cars and really hit home how much my car has neglected handling and braking. Hopefully soon to be fixed. Sin

Little bit of update : Finally got my full 3inch system made. Complete downpipe back , great work by the guys at powerspeed as usual and improved spool by about 600 rpm Finally made a to do list for the car before the track day and just as I have ive run into a slight problem.. Spot the problem Not sure if im going to be able to get it ready for the track day. Just hope the engine has not munched too many metal filings.

I have got a cable operated lever arm on the box but the cable did also snap you think the mechanism jammed
-
Any idea why this could of happened. Something is clearly jammed with the clutch but what?
-
Problem solved ?
-
Sounds like its over fuelling potentially if plugs fixed the problem. Id get it over to someone for a remap or at least do a run on a rolling road to see what your AFR is like.
-
lol , no way there should be a limiter at that rpm. Definitely give your supplier a call.

How hard was it fabricating the external wastegate pipe back into the downpipe? I need to do mine soon but worried about getting the pipe the exact right size. -
Get a manual so you can have some actual control. Especially if you want to do any track work.
-
Whats the V8 project? If this is anything to go by should be mental! Id personally set a conservative rev limit around 6600. Even if your rods and pistons ect are designed to take the extra load unless your head has had some serious work done to it the valvetrain wont be able to cope.
-
Ive been recommended to use RBF 400 motul brake fluid for track.
-
I did a track day at bedford recently , was open pit lane and great fun. Wide circuit so easy to overtake and people generally nice enough to let each other past. Are we looking at May onwards for people to be able to be happy to do it?
-
Just looking for some feedback as to when people would like to do a track day as if we book in advance then can normally get good discounts. Most likely wont be able to cater for everyone but would be good to have a date with a lot of VRs.

Ive booked up for a track day sunday 27th february. It is an open pitlane session and a £148 Its part of the MLR evo owners club event but Ive emailed them and they are happy for a few of us to turn up. http://www.lancerregister.com/store_category.php?id=4#/ Be good to see some other 6 pots out on track.
