    Another classic day with this car, went to fit the wheels today which I have been looking forward to all week but obviously something was going to go wrong... To be fair I probably should have checked but when I got the bolts out to put the adapters on it turns out I only got 9 bolts with them not the 20 required. I fitted one wheel though so here's some pics of it as it came off the jack (the camera on my iPhone is shit lol) It was the first time I had taken a wheel off this car so gave me a chance to see what coilovers are on it, the are yellow but I doubt they are spax as spax are decen

    I thought you had to swap a ring off the back of the mk3 wheel onto the 3.5 one or something?

    I just replaced my heater matrix in my R reg VR and I bought a cleaner replacement dash while I was at it. I just went to put the dash in and there is a gap between the dash and the window, I can fit my fingers in the gap. The dash I'm putting it has an upper glovebox so I think it's from an earlier car should this make any difference?

    Finally something good! Got my wheels back today! I bought them thinking I could just fit them but when I went to get the tyres fitted it turned out all 4 were properly buckled, 1 was possibly usable if put on the rear but even that wasn't recommended. They had been sat in boxes at my house for a few weeks prior so I decided instead of contacting the seller I would just bite the bullet and get them sorted. After going to 3 wheel places I was losing hope as they all said they wouldn't touch them because they are splined bolt splits and they were so buckled they were scrap so I should just not b

    I will use the slats off it to de badge my other grill. It's the only way to achieve a badgeless early vento grill and in my opinion it's the best look but not all that common because of the cost and work involved.

    It's amazing how much a plate can make a difference to the look! I have never a private plate but I was going to get similar for mine (VVR for Vento VR) I really like where this is going what wheels are you planning to run?

    Did a little more on the vento today, I can't really do to much due to health issues but I am chipping away at it lol I bought another heater box due to bits being broken off mine But unfortunately and not at all surprisingly bits were broken off the inside and outside, I guess the courier firm kicked it around abit lol So I was left with no choice but to use my old one, I managed to get the cables clipped on using some cunning which negated the need for the new one but the foam on the flap was still ruined so I peeled the remainder off And then using some lagging tape I had left over from

    Yeah it's a little beast it would give the vr a run for its money! It has relieved the pressure but it's also taken away any urgency so the car will be back on the road probably 2 weeks later than it would have been. I have sent all my clocks and switches etc away for modding so even if I do fix it I won't have a speedo or lights lol

    Thanks I think I may have sorted one now but I will bear that in mind! It's nice to have a matrix that fits but it will be really nice once I have got a new heater box and put it all back in! Can you smell coolant in the car? Unfortunately it probably is your matrix lol I went back to scrappy today to finish getting a heater box out, I nearly had it out and a bit broke off it! Just my luck lol Didn't want to go home empty handed to liberated the clocks from a mk3.5 cabby, I will either get an rpm converter or try to make 1 set of clocks out of a mixture of the cabby ones and my VR ones

    Yeah it wriggles out with the non air con heater box but the air con one is mahoosive so the knee bar has to be moved

    It's always the way, I have messaged no end of people who are breaking cars but nobody seems interested in selling me one. I only need the small part with the heater core and flaps in it. It didn't actually take me long to get it out the only issue I had was the air con heater box is massive so there isn't room to get it put without moving the knee bar, the solution was a nice and simple get the grinder out! My favourite kind if solution! We have got an awesome scrappy here there was at least 10 mk3's in there today including an estate and a VR, cabby was the first car I saw as I walk

    The pressure is off with the vento now as I have this Puma powered fiesta with big brakes, avo coilovers, fiesta turbo recaros etc... Great fun! It's my sisters weekend fun car but she doesn't use it in the winter so I chucked some tax on it and now I'm chucking it about lol It has made it possible for me to get about to sort bits for the vento so New wings, sills and inner/outer arch repair panels Yet another heater matrix, this one fits! Went to the scrappy today to get a heater box, unfortunately they closed just after I got the dash out the car lol I did manage to get all this crap ou

    The second one I will definitely get a refund and I reckon as it's the wrong part they should refund me the first one aswell!

    A mate of mine who works at a different parts placed phone hella today for me and the first one they sold me came back as for an Audi so it is the wrong part. The second one however came back as correct for a RHD car when it's a LHD part so that may be a labelling fuck up at hella

    I'm losing interest pretty fast now if it has heating and a dash In it at the weekend then I'll give it another chance, annoyingly I ordered new wings, sills and inner and outer rear arches for it last week lol That's what I thought with the pipes I could have been £100 out of pocket still without a matrix lol gsf won't refund one that's been fitted
