Finally found some time to work on the car and managed to get a fair bit ,,
Will let the pics do the talking for now..
Wheels been inspected before they went into hibernation
And back to engine work,
Oil return pipe welded into sump ,still need to clean it up and paint it but checked and it cleares the drive shaft nicely,,
As it stands now
Plan to get a bit more done before new year..

Ok managed to spend an hour on the car today between rain showers and high winds,,didn't get any pics but got the turbo oil feed and sensors back in ,power steering pump connected and new aux belt fitted ,then the rain came so will have another go tomorrow and get some pics,,
All being well I hope to do all the wireing tomorrow and possibly get the sump off to weld in an oil drain tube...

I don't think so ,never planned on selling that one..might of been my mate ,he had a red g60.?
.

Yep,red 20vt rado on drive and dbp vr6 rado in the layby,,,
-
Mine seems to spend more time off road than it does on as I'm always fiddling with it,,I used to live on pennywort grove but now I'm at other end of Harrogate..
-
No black one ,Danny's ,been in body shop for 4 years and got it back last Xmas but hasn't been on the road so you probs not seen it ,will be out next year tho il make sure of it!

Little update,,
Not been able to do anything to it for a wile as been really busy at work and 3 kids taking up all my time,,but I have had the oil feed and return lines made up so wilst I'm off over Xmas I plan to get the turbo hooked up ,change my pedal box because I still have the dbw in from the 24v ,and get the wiring done ,then just intercooler and exhaust to fit and it's ready for body work thanks to my gazebo being Brocken by the wind and bouncing down the side of my car ,,,
Will update with pics once there's something to show..
Cheers

Shame about the wind doing that to your cover ,my rado was under a gazebo and the wind snapped the frame so now have to respray the wing!
I used to see this about a few times looks great! Also my mate lives round the corner from you with a mk2 vr sat in his garage ..

Looks like a great project ,,any more pics of the car?
-
Good progress ,congrats! Great Xmas present for yourself ha ha ,,
-
Looks great on the new wheels ,,is it going in for a full respray or just bay and arches?
-
Looking good! That turbo jacket should be on the hot side tho I think,,
Get a vid up when it's running..
-
Hi I have the first one in your list and fits very well ,my car isn't running yet so can't tell you how good it is but fit and Finnish is good and could be much bigger as its a tight fit on my rado..

Nice work,, how long before its ready to fire up?
-
Ha ha,no probs two bigger ones are for brake servo and isv,,small one is to fuel pressure reg vacume..
Any more pics of what you've done so far ? Have you had to move the brake reservoir for the turbo inlet?
-
Nice,! Looks the same as mine ..

There not too difficult to just follow a head gasket guide but fit your spacer between a split mk4 3 piece head gasket,,I have used genuine head bolts in mine as read they are fine till you get over 500hp ish ,only negative is that they can't be reused like ARP bolts..
Hope this helps..
-
With the gt35 it will be hard to just run 300hp ,at just 8psi you will be near 360 hp I would just put a spacer plate in to be safe if it was me ..
From what I've read the vr doesn't like boost at standered comp..
-
Have you lowered the compression? What management are you going to be using?.
Looking good so far,,good luck
