    run it right down to nearly an empty tank, fill up, let that run right down then fill up again, if its still the same on the second tank of 'normal' fuel it isnt the v power. i use tesco super unleaded (i think thats what its called)with the blue handle and it runs better than it does with v power and more fuel efficiant too, o and cheaper!

    i had this on my black gti and auto electricians didnt know what it was, so got a blank from the scrappy off a car with no abs or airbag warning light and took it to a diffrent garage and it passed lol

    Noticed your from leigh, I have an oil leak from the front that has gradually got worse due to ignoring it. I know ste smith who has the garage at the bottom of leigh bridge he had a look at mine for me and said it was something to do with a seal which involved removing the gearbox so involves abit of work. Can you not get access to a ramp so you can have a good look

    get it VAG-COM'ed that should give you a good idea, check the vag com owner list thing here of who has one near you as there are plenty of fellas on here who are always happy to help as i have found out. thats if its drivable of course

    mines been misfiring for months, ive thought to myself now enoughs enough about putting things off with the car im going to sort all my problems with it out, think ive got about 8 things that need doing now, no good putting things off until 'next week' because next week the same gets said lol! So going to start with my misfiring problem with the help of this thread (and wont be using ebay )

    good find russ just watched it, meguires are probs my favourite too. How much will i have to pay for one of those polishers i know the megs one is like 130 quid! not paying that. Anybody on here willing to do it for me for cash lol ??

    this is the problem i am experiencing, been told told to clean the isv valve clean the maf and air filter, and get a air fuel ratio test done. Mine is exactly the same its fine when warming up but rubbish when ive been driving and come to traffic lights etc

    Just cleaned the car and noticed alot of bad swirl marks all over the car. What is the best product to use and ways/techniques to get rid of the things

    yeah i would just get a set of 2nd hand coilovers, you might find that you wont be going round bends very well or safely with those springs ya found. Just seen that your from leigh, all my family live there and im from wigan, got a vr6 turbo look out for me lol

    looks tacky. see how its been resprayed and he couldnt be arsed doing the engine bay so he has sprayed a few things inside with halfords paint and fitted some red seats lol what a muppet! Waste of a car, he should come to the meets that would be interesting

    ok then cheers bodge ill get it booked in for it, getting it serviced, new plugs ,leads, oil, oil filter, clean air filter, clean maf, clean isv valve.... see how it runs then because its started smoking again, and idles crap still. You say front camber 1.5 degrees negative what about the back? and if its neg does that mean the bottom is out and the top is closer to the car if you know what i mean?

    As the tittle says, i have had understeer problems since i got the car, the power steering had gone and i had budget tyres on the front. I changed the tyres to yoko parada2's and fixed power steering. Handling(in the dry) was much better and in the wet was better but still alot of understeer and not very responsive steering. Last week i picked up that i have got alot of body roll, and my traction problems are worse! If its raining or the road is wet, and i go round a round about at the speed of a normal person would take a round about... I turn and the car sort of keeps going forward then turn

    take it you dont mean that big scoop on the bonnet! thats a good idea with the vw badges on the side but not very dub and very chavvy, i think big boys toys do them i got some ages ago like 2 years ago dont know if they still do them they come in gloss black aswell
