    if there mk3 clocks make sure that they are not abf ones as i picked up a set thinking they were vr6 and as vr6 pete says they will read for a 4 pot the mph is right but the revs do there own thing lol

    yea its the same rr each time the thing is the car drives really well and still prodeuces good power but obviously if theres more power to be had i want it lol will i find out the problem using vag com

    well i asked the man at the rolling road if the engine has a problem but he reckons its fine but needs to be richend up what can be the problem will it be the original fpr

    i took my vr for a rolling road a few weeks ago the car is running a decat,air filter and exaust system and rolled out at 177 bhp flywheel and 152bhp whp.the problem ive got is that after the rr run thhe man pointed out that the engine was running lean it was running 2.9 co where as every other vr on the day was running 4.6 and upwards so nearly half what it should he told me that the engine still has another up to 10bhp in it but i should invest in a fpr to dump more fuel in but i have a mate that reckons i should get a chip to instead. I dont wanna get a chip or remap till the cams go in but

    well funny you should say that i was told they could be abf clocks as they were the only other mk3 with 160mph on the clock,i might just take the lights out and put the old clocks back in thanks for the help

    ive been running obd1 clocks in my mk2 vr for a while but after the lights went in them i decided to get some obd2 clocks as im running a obd2 engine but the clocks are reading 200 rpm fast and when i rev it round passed 4k it does its own thing im sure the mph is fine but the revs are all over the place does anyone know what can be the problem Aaron

    have a look at schimmel 263 they are supposed to be a good set of cams na and fi some people have seen up to 20 bhp after a remap na.or if you wanna go a little lairy look for a set of doerty 268 alot cheaper than shrick but perform as good

    your best waiting till you put cams in before remap to see a really good gain without cams you will see about 5 to 10 bhp with a remap

    i have a spare head but i think its obd1,i wanna rebuild it but i have a obd2 engine for it to go on when its built are the heads the same or can i not use it. Aaron

    ive been running a cheap inclosed type airfilter that i picked up from halfords it has a similar look to the bmc.ive been running it for a while and noticed that the car was lasy and i never had that vr sound.so my cousin who also owns a vr come to see me and took my car out he also said it feels sluggish up top but bottom end it feels ok he then looked at my filter and said that the filter look quite small and that the vr respond well to breathing right so we tried his filter on mine and the car just is a diiferent car it picks up and pulls pull and pulls lol after putting my filter side by s

    sorry yea its coming from the left side of the engine it sounds exactly like a lazy tappet i havent lost any performance but i done a 200 mile trip yeterday and the noise has become more noticable

    no the noise is coming from the belt side,the only time its noisy Is when i rev over 2tho revs

    i have a sound coming from my right side of my engine its sounds like a lazy tappet but i was told it could be belt tensionor bearings would this be the problem. Cheers Aaron

    i have a obd2 engine but when i ordered my lamda for it i got the wrong one i got a obd1 ive been using it for about 2 months or so now but the problem im getting is the car smells really rich all the time is this to do with the lamda and by running a obd1 lambda on a obd2 can it afect engine and performance Cheers Aaron

    ive been thinking bout cams for my na vr ive heard good things about drc 268 but also schimmel 263 are supposed to be good with a na vr which ones would be best to go for,and what sort of prices

    mine got disconnected some how and it made my car run really lumpy like it was missing so im sure theres no benefits lol
