I'm in the process of de-cluttering and smoothing my bay and my aircon doesnt help things look any tidier. I got it regasses a few months ago but there was no pressure in the system at all so they said they'd only regas it if I wanted as there was obviously a problem. So as its not working I was wondering how easy it'd be removing it, and if there are any risks? Thanks, Ken

I went down the rubber mallet route, it was actually bolted to the strut.

I've been told its a just a switch toi turn the siren on and off, looks like I'll just have to rip it off lol
-
I had thought that, but I dont wanna mangle the alarm. Although if I can't find a key for it that's the route I'll be going down.

I'm in the process of smoothing/tidying my engine bay but I can't get my alarm siren off my strut turret. It has this key on the outside of it but I dont have anything that fits it, I'm thinking its bolted to the strut and the bolt is on the inside of the box either that or its got the best glue I've ever seen. What do you guys recon? Here's the lock thing I'm talking about . . . . Thanks, Ken

Thats a really tidy install there, I'd like something subtle like that on the mk3. wont be for some time though unfortunately.

034 Motorsport can supply a Drivebywire to Drive by cable conversion kit but its 600 dollars so maybe better off with a used Alfa one. They also supply EFI standalone management systems.

Awriite I've been speaking to a breaker who's got in a mk4 R32 and I'm thinking of getting the engine and 'box off him. As far as mounting goes I know I'll need the rear mount from the mk4 but can I use mk3 vr6 items for the other mounts? Management wise, what should I be looking for? He's quoting me a price for the engine, box and loom but will I need the ECU, clocks keys etc? Any info on the conversion is a massive help, Ken

You recon thats the case even with aquamist/methanol? I'm really after as tidy an install as possible. Edit: Doesn't say how much boost the car's running.

PM'd C2 Motorsport. That red one is actually intercooled I found a feature on it, its got a horizontally mounted Spearco intercooler just infront of the gear box, makes good power, 297bhp and 315lbs/ft of torque . . . at the wheels.
-
Aye thats the very one I was talking about, cant seem to find any specs on it, I saw it featured on a U.S. website I'm sure but cany remember anything about it. Anybody know anymore?

Awrite folks I'm wondering if it'd be worthwhile running a low boost non intercooler turbo set up with aquamist/methanol to keep inlet temps down as an alternative to a supercharger set up? I'm looking for 300lbs/ft but cant afford a full on turbo set up with a solid bottom end. If you have any ideas or thoughts on this please post them up. Thanks, Ken Edit: I've seen a similar setup on a red Vento VrR6 turbo with a heavily smoothed bay but can't find pics at the minute.

Are ZR2s not a fair bit older design than the VF Engineering ones?

I didnt know there was a 2.5" 15psi pulley, I thought the max was 12psi? would the smaller puller generate more belt slip than the other? Also, why do no charged VRs running toothed belts like you see on G60s and G40s?
-
well how every many litres you've got times it by 0.22 and you get how many gallons.
-
Miss-calculation on my part the MPG is 26 is I cant really complain as I did go pick the mrs up from uni and it was quite bad traffic. ~Cheers fpot the help anyway guys.

I put 20quid in the other day and drove about like a granny (most of the time) and I'm getting just under 23 MPG so its not a faulty dash reading. Any ideas on the problem?
-
Right I'd do some math then get back to you on that one.
-
Yeh just taking it off the dash, no stutting or stalling issues, its running sweet as a nut,

I think I'd just go for the water injection, and have a big tank if your worried about running out. Question about that TSR kit in the picture where the hell is the boost piping going? Round the back of the engine then to where? Seems a bit daft, would be so mych better with a short runner so your not putting your nice cool air back over the exhaust.
-
C'mon somebody must know, I cant get it to go about 22.8 no matter how much like a granny I drive.

I think when Dubsport do rear engined conversions they try and mount up a complete front subframe a doner vehicle, I know this was the case with thier 1.8t mk3 polo, it was mounted on a modified mk3 golf subframe. Dunno where you'd go after that, I've seen a few using an almost spaceframe engine craddle/subframe set-up before.

My car was in for its MOT a couple of days ago and I had to have the cat refitted for it, I then removed it after the test. I noticed when refitting the decat section that the little bit of rubber round the wiring had come apart, I wrapped this in insulating tape just incase. Also the cables to the lambda were very twisted, I tried to undo it a bit but couldnt make much difference, Do you think my very poor mpg is due to this? Thanks Ken

The Dubpower manifold is for a N/A not a turbocharged one. I'd be going to Meercat Exhausts for the manifold ( http://www.meercat-exhausts.com/ ) a very well known company with customers such as the late Colin McRae and Keith Cowie, the manifold would be an equal length item. I've been quoted around £800 do you think thats an alright price?
-
what is it avout your current manifold your not happy with?
