  1. I know i not been a member very long and i feel a bit of a plumb asking certain questions that are probably obvious answers to most on here. I am half lazy and half ingnorant when it comes to cars but would a suggestion of a comprehensive price list on parts. I know that there are many different prices for parts and quality of parts. Alot of people like myself run there cars on a budget, more so for me as mine is just a weekend toy. I do try and look up cost for parts and stuff but i dont really know what i am looking at. I am after a price for a complete timing chain kit for my VR plus sproke
  2. Quick arrange a mini meet and cruise :-d Will you be making a decision tomorrow Ben. (
  3. :-d :-d :-d Its a family business but as i am the black sheep, i was never invited to join. I grew up working around cars but they were never interested in modding mine. Mind you, i am really sh*t at cars. Not at all mechanicly minded. :$
  4. What are you listening to Right Now. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap - AC/DC
  5. ( David. Teach me to take it to people who know what they are doing. To be fair they are good mechanics but in general everyday mechanics shop. Not specialist tuning or performance.
  6. Hats off to you fella, that is a very nice project. Thanks for the interesting read. Your a clever guy and i admire your patience. Me personally could not have waited so long, i un wrap my presents the day before. So much care and attention. When mine is due for some work i think i will ask you to do it. Cheers Sean
  7. I paid £2695 for my OBD1 on a 95(M) plate. Full leather interior which has obviously been added. 102k. It has been extremely well looked after and original paint work. Got the usual chips and scratches but she is solid. I been over every part of her and on a ramp and the only bit of rust is on the inner drivers side seal just by the trim. Common place. A good find really as she has full service history from new all done at VW garages. The only downside is the chain & tensioners have not been done. I am guessing they are due. Expensive? Sean
  8. Oh... and if they put either of those in they want shooting' date=' or at least avoiding in the future. You're heading into winter you don't want a 15w oil in there when the engine is specced for a maximum cold thickness of a 10w oil. I'd drain and replace asap (filter will be OK obviously). [/quote'] Thanks very much for that, long story but i took it to my fathers garage. I knew i should 'nt of as i did not want his staff working on it, it was just convenieant at the time(strapped for cash). Act in haste, repent at leisure. Again, thankyou. Sean.
  9. Are there any shows/events of any kind on in your area, dont really matter where we meet. We could have a laugh anywhere.
  10. How you doing Ben. Do you have to give the VR up?, you could always store her and bring her out when you get the urge. Then you have best of both worlds and have the car of your choice as a daily runner. Insurance i am guessing would be the problem but i bet there are curtain restrictions you could apply to keep the VR's premium down. Just a idea. Sean (
  11. Not going to be able to make this one, we going to Birmingham on Tuesday to see SMACKDOWN WWE Wrestling, not that i am remotely interested in watching 7ft+ men beat the cr*p out of each other . £200 for 4 tickets it better not be fixed :-p Bring back Mick McManus
  12. Everyone has said what i wanted to say :$ but i am a great believer in a wolf in sheep's clothing, HR Engineering will turn your fronts into rears, then major engine modification. The looks of a VR with hidden depths
  13. Bit wonky, i was on orange juice. Think i got the DT's [lightbox=../../e107_files/public/1191862122_6214_FT188885_img_0988.jpg][/lightbox]
