  1. Basically what you need is a replacement fob with the red bit because that tells you what type of chip is inside. You will then need to program it (Remote only), now most aftermarket alarms have a procedure you can follow to add a new fob, I have found this on the net which might help. I assume they are talking about the standard alarm as no reference is made to other alarm. Link here .... http://www.techwatch.co.uk/forums/10159-vw-remote-key-fob-programming-guide.html After that you can go down to a good locksmith and they will be able to code and cut the key blade PS: very important that y
  2. Hello Mate, Maybe post a pic, someone would reconise it but from the description nothing pops to mind ??
  3. If the car has been well maintained then it would be ok, most higher miles cars would of had alot done to it mechanically providing the owner was good to it, don't buy without a good service history. However that is aot of miles. In general I avoid cars with too many owners rather than the miles....

  8. I got a bargain....Well at least I think, just got a deal on a raceland manifold and magnex exhaust, however the seller wants me to remove the current setup from his car and replce it with mine (standard), now I have no clue on how to remove the manifold and would need to ask a mate who is a mechanic to do the job, that would mean removing two mani's and refitting them in one day along with the exhausts. Now I am not a slave driver and I do expect to pay him for his services but what sort of money do garages charge and how easy/long of a job is it? PS: The seller is not paying to have it remo

  10. It would be cheaper from TPS, whilst you are there you can get the oil filter as well, around £7 incl vat...... so you would saving around a tenner, maybe slighly more....
  11. Well mine has 49K and I have been advised to use fully synthentic oil, not sure about the price diffrence.....
  12. There are different oils, Syntha silver (the one you are buying) then syntha gold. The gold is fully synthentic and silver is semi synthetic. Gold is for lower mile cars.....
  13. Diy service on my headlights this weeked, read on an Ed38 link "set the oven to 350 degress pop them in for 5 mins and the glass pop's out using a screwdriver. Well I later found out 5 mins was way too much, bloody melted two plastic mountings. Anyways after the drama it turned out quite well, quite pleased with the results. Also if anyone is thinking of doing this don't leave it too long in the oven, 2 mins tops, also preheat the oven then turn it off prior to putting the lights in...... Cheap, easy and classy mod imo..... BEFORE..... HALFWAY THERE...... ALL DONE....
