so ive fitted some HID's in my projectors i think one of the balasts has gone already. can i fit another balast from my old set? i presume theyre all the same just different bulbs

firstly when i start the car the handbrake light goes out, then after a bit it comes on again and stays on for journey. checked the fluid level and was ok, then today noticed the little plastic piston in the flui pot was right up. i know naf all about brakes so any help would be good!

being low as i am i'll soon have problems with the drivers side driveshaft hitting the chasis leg. i wanna avoid getting it notched if possible so wondered if there are any narrow driveshaft alternatives off the shelf. off the top of my head 96 VR is 100mm yeah? what did the passat run? or are any of the aftermarket ones thinner?
