    ok i'll try plain fat as ive already done fat32 and ntfs, but im probably playing a long shot as it was just a hope it would work, ive measured and checked the voltage/amp out put of my stereo's usb socket and its within the operating range of the hard drive, but it may not actually know what to do and be only usable for flash memory, sd cards for the sda card slot and numerous size pen drives which all work. im just being greedy as the hard drive is 40gb and i can get most of my films on that instad of 4 or 5 on my bigest flash memory, lol

    has anyone seen them moulded plastic parcel shelves for sale on ebay? they have a raised moulded vw sign and four cut outs for 6x9's. IF i was to get one whats the chances of being ridiculed and dis-owned by the vr6 owners club, i know its a bit maxpower generation crash into the back of a ripspeed store item but i think that they could possibly look quite nice if coloured or covered correctly plus it will stop me cutting up my oe one

    tried e38, nothing going there, i think i put an add up using gavinvr6 screenie but laptop crapped out as i hit the post button and now having probs getting onto the site. vagslag forums are shutting down so no joy there and im having sign in probs with clubgti, i think i joined every vw club i could find last night, leaving begging posts everywhere,lol

    no prob, suppose it wont hurt to pray. LOTS. lol, does anyone know if the vento or pssat vr6 box fits or a manual sharan or the ford galaxy v6 with the vw engine or even a 6 speed box from one of the newer deseil models (ive heard it does), trouble is i dont know what engine or gearbox code mine is and wouldnt know where to look, im guessing mine is a AAA code box, are the newer (mines 1993) vr obd2 engines using the same box, sorry for all the questions but everyday im stuck in portsmouth and not in london working im losing about 150 quid a day next week and really cant afford that aswell, lo

    hey guys i got a huge problem, the gearbox on my car literally exploded on the motorway, showering the carriageway with lots of small cogs and some large chunks of casing, does anyoe have one in or near the portsmouth area, im willing to pay a good price (but please dont rip me off im on a very tight budget as it is) as i cant get back to london without my car. sorry for putting this in the wrong section admin but i thought id get more luck than in the wanted section and im desperate. if anyone can help me please call 07749464178

    nope, no spinning going on, so i bought a cigar lighter adaptor for powering usb device's and and hopefully make it spin but when i use that the stereo dont even realise ive plugged something into the usb

    dunno cant find the box or bloody paperwork now, typical aint it, ya hardly ever need it and the one time you wanna look something up you cant remember where you put it to keep it safe

    the 6 speed box swap in the mag was for a mk2, and the work involved was quite a lot, not just flywheel and clutch, but certainly gotta be able to do this to a modern ish vr if it can be done to the dinosaur mk2

    i done a loom and super white bulbs on my mk2 that had useless lights and the improvement was amazing, then again i did use ones that draw the same as normal bulbs but produce 100w and 80w, and e marked

    mine has got something called a sigma, it came with a thatcham ticket when i bought the car, are these still valid? also how do i do total closure on my car ive got leccy windows and roof but vacuum locks? do i have to swap them all out for electric types?

    one for all you techy's out there, i have a usb equiped head unit but when i plug my usb hard drive (2.5" in a caddy)in it just comes up no disc, ive tried formatting it for both fat32 and ntfs but with no joy, so i bought a cigar lighter usb device power supply but when i plug that in the stereo dont even reaslise there is a usb device plugged into it, any help you guys can give would be great as its driving me nuts, will i just have to use flash drives instead of a propper hard drive

    UPDATE:::: i managed to get the bonnet open after much jiggery and plenty of pokery, eventually snapped 2 tabs and the bottom of the grill but it cam off without completly destroying it, BUT as for getting to the 2 10mm bolts, yeah right, i tried every socket, spanner combination i had i even bent a 10mm into a zig zag without getting the bolts out, eventually cut the right hand side front off the gaurd and popped the bonnet in about 10 seconds, i think though i have established a way to get the bonnet open in future if it happens to anyone else, after carefully measuring and lots of looking

    PLEASE HELP ME. the cable snapped for my bonnet release and the bonnet is shut, can anyone tell me of a way to get it open without destroying the front of my baby i think its snapped either at the bonnet end or in the middle coz its still attatched to the handle

    does the tb have like a couple of ripples circling the inside that you ground out, sorry i cant see the difference in the pics, would this help? in theory i can see where your going and since im trying to do my vr to a budget thats the sort of thing i could do myself to improve things

    according to the service book it was last serviced in december 06, and i bought it from a vw fan in january so think it can be reasonable trusted. im assuming that would of involved an oil and filter change or minor service, possibly by an independent or similar who didnt know how to get rid of the dash warning. but then again assumption is the mother of all- well you know the rest just checked the records, it was serviced by a mobile mechanic with a lube service

    well mine is a k reg so goes i'll have the nice easy fit version please, lol. sounds interesting, also sounds easier to get more from the older cars, thank you, looks like i know what i got planned then, ive also been offered a 2nd had wet nos kit from a friend who says he can get the xtra nozzles so i can go direct port with it, does this mean i have to dril 6 holes in my inlet manifold or am i being stupid?

    ok so i should probably be looking at a superchip or something a shop sells as own brand to save the pennies. and maybe see a couple of extra horses on top, and with the other stuff bring it back up to or slightly higher than what its supposed to have, i doubt with my budget i'll ever get to the magical 200bhp, its got 120k on the clock and although still goes like stink has probably lost the best part of 15 bhp over the years, i dont want monster power, i just want the car to feel a little better at the bottom end and of course get that lovely v6 roar when im going full chat from the lights :

    i get 'in 02' flash 4 times on my dash when i start my car, its a 93,k golf vr, completely standard, can anyone tell me why its doing this as its beggining to bug me
