  1. Well in reality the Auto box on a VR is a cruser - To me if you like auto then the VR is the car for you. The changeover on the box is quite early which means alot less strain on the engine. So 100k in and auto is like 80k on a manual IMO. Just make sure the gearbox oil gets changed offen and she should run like a dream. I'm a manual boy, I live for the engine brake etc but I'd def rather my misses drive an auto as i feel it'll look after her more...... Sadly she has a MR2 Roadster and is a looney :-(
  2. I have a set of these and all i can say is DAM - these are great tyres!!
  3. Ah ha - bought them off Coxy so just looked at his thread again and they are 8J and 7 on front - so might be ok with just a little pull http://www.vr6oc.com/userposts.php?0.forums.5038 I want mine to sit around 2-3 inches lower than coxys aswel
  4. Yeah I think they are - I thought i was going to be an easy job, slide hammer them out and touch up but it looks like they need to go out atleast 3 inches so I might be struggling :-(
  5. Well i had the alloys powered coated gold as I want to put a gold strip around the car making it looks like the anniversary gti style... Just something a bit different i guess
  6. Well i took them when i was picking the car up so the BS had just washed it 5 mins earlier.... I'll get some proper ones when the BBS r on - I'd like one like yours mate - that tunnel looks awesome hehe
  7. Thanks Bob - I think I need some one who can take good pics aswel as my eye for good pics seems to be crap lol
  8. Totally agree Binliner - he made a mistake lol so he's doing it again for free ;-) It was my fault been as if I could have got the RS4's off he would have changed them over and remembered
  9. Hi Guys, Just thought I’d share some of my pictures of my on going project: Started Life Looking like this: Then I got some cheap RS4’s (from a mate) - FK Coilovers, Full Exhaust System and Twin Hella Lights :-) I like my sounds so me and my mate spent 2 days fitting and setting up my alpine system etc Went two to three weeks loving the car (its my fourth VR now) and then organised a mate (bodyshop) to sort lots of the body work out. So I just picked her up lastnight (nearly complete) after having: Colour coded door handles Smoothed front and back bumpers Colour coded front and rear spli
  10. I totally agree - the VR needs good make tyres all around - it can have 7-10mm of tread but if they r micky mouse tyres then they wont be able to cope with the weight and set up. But other things for you to look at are: Tyre preasure - make sure they are correct all around. Other thing is Camber - you car looks lower and on 15's the camber setup might be correct but on 17's the cam angles might be altered. This is the biggest problem with lowering cars - people forget to get the alinement setup aswel.
  11. my god that clio looked quick i must be fully tunned up!!
  12. ah ha - good good price seems more realistic!! :-)
  13. I knew it lol 15.6 1/4 mile!! :-p http://www.carfolio.com/specifications/models/car/?car=154891&Renault
  14. No way does a standard williams do 14 sec quarter mile - what a horrible car 2 drive my mates was and it certainly wasnt that quick!!
  15. So has yours been flushed before or something J?
  16. So are you leaving the spoiler on as there are 3 holes in the glass if you wanted to take it off... thats why I had the pay the £120 aswel If it is £300 have you seen the quality of the work they produce??
  17. They are some people who cant see past they're saxos/novas/fiestas to know anything about other cars. He might be able to strip his saxo part and rebuild it in a day but if he said to me 'is that a TT engine' i'd make sure he was no where near my car. Funny though!! :-)
  18. Wish my misses used her money to some quality use!! Nice one anna :-)
  19. Just to let you know the £120 was for the glass company to remove old glass and supply and fit new one aswel. If you need the number let me know??
  20. £300 cash - I would have ripped his arm off!! I've got a mate who is awesome - he rebuilds and restores mk1&mk2 escorts as he loves them. I'm picking my car up tomorrow off him after he's: rolled the arches, sprayed and fitted new front grill fixed front lights and sprayed painted calipers yellow plastic welded a plate on rear bumper smoothed front and rear bumpers using fibreglass and sprayed sorted some rust on one of my sills debadge the tailgate and removed spoiled welding plates etc and smoothed plus sprayed Body coloured door handles Sprayed rear blistered arches Then finally gone o
  21. I have RS4's on mine at the moment which i'm changing - RS4's are so common now sadly but i guess its just because they are so well liked. My opinion is you get some classic BBS 16" and drop the car low or get some 18's (yes 18's) and modify the arches to fit nicely. When 18's are done properly there is no doubt everybody loves them!!
  22. http://www.edition38.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=133367&st=40&start=40
  23. I think we should encourage him to finish the project off lol
  24. So does anyone know of a complete kit or does anyone wanna sell there kit to free up some money?? Come on people I'm in need of power lol!!
  25. I was quoted £400 to map a charger - The r32 needs fitting and £500 mapping which could end up over £1k
