    When mine was only firing on 5, the plug that wasnt firing was soaked in petrol. Then a compression test was done to see which cylinders were firing and which wasnt. After testing that it wasnt the leads that were dodgy, and compression good in all cylinders, there was only one answer..... coilpack

    No not the sound system. I popped the hood and fiddled with my MAF (the wiring into the plug is slightly lose so she idles lumpy every so often) and also had a fiddle with the fabric bit of hose that goes right next to the manifold on the right hand side. Then the whistle stopped and hasn't come back since!

    My golf has developed a whistle, occasionally! Sounds like the whistle of a supercharger and mimics the pattern. i.e. gets loud and higher pitched as i accelerate and then drops etc when i'm slowing down. Can anyone shed any light on this? P.S sorry to hi-jack the thread!

    Probably not going on Tthis so my Speedferry ticket is up for grabs. I bought it early so its only £66 plus the admin fee (£15 i think) to swap it over. If nobody wants the ticket i will still go but if there is someone out there wanting to travel with the major convoy then the ticket is yours.

    LMAO, i laughed so hard i actually cried. First one is deffo worth the read just to get the full effect of the 2nd! £7k for wax is pretty extreme but it is free re-fills for life so if you were a detailer by trade then surely this would be a sound investment. And yer detailing a brand new car to that extent is VERY anal!

    Hmmmm i was told to leave it for about 4 weeks as the paint needs the time to breath and expel ALL the fumes etc. Waxing etc seals these gases in and starts ruining the paint work from under the wax... :S

    Yer but i will regret going if i come back to England with my freshly modded and sprayed car covered in chips etc!

    Its not so much the cost any more, more the fact the car will have had £5k's worth of bodywork (if you go buy The Phirms quote!) including a full re-spray so i don't fancy ruining that with stone chips!! Plus the ATB's will have just been re-furb'd as well.... :S

    Lol yer ben u did turn a rather bright shade of red last year! I cant talk, i've only just lost my burnt on tan lines! Think i should practice what i preach and invest in sun screen as well!
