very interested in this also, again i am not terribly knowledgable regarding this matter, but seeing as a supercharger supercools the air on the intake, and a turbo works off of used exhaust gasses, subject to getting the correct mapping i dont see why it wouldnt be possible, with something like an extra 100 bhp from both of the f.i devices?

167 is a lot of miles mate, having said that if its had the timing chain & tensioners done recently it may be okay, also you need to check all other stuff that will tend to be worn at that sort of mileage, i.e pads & disks, exhaust, alloys + tyre condition, just that little lot could cost you the same as the car again very quickly, its not so much an expensive car to purchase as it is to run and maintain correctly, best of luck whatever you decide.

hey girls and boys, as the title says in the title, going to do my heater matrix in the next few days, called t.p.s in colindale today, quoted £102:00 + v.a.t. Just checked it on GSF, £37:80 + v.a.t ( - my VR6 discount) eurocarparts - £27:95 not a little difference, just wondering if anybody was aware of the difference between the 2, and if almost triple the price is justified? all help appreciated.

if speed is the most important factor here mate, go for the mitsi, its a bloody quick car out of the box, drive it for 6 months, and the beauty with that car is that as long as the engine is sweet, and the work that he says has been done, you can chuck £1500 at it and get it up around 350 to 370 brake, reliabe. that doesnt even get you a stage 1 supercharger on the vr, and as you mentioned, the traction then becomes the issue, whereas the 4wd on the mitsi will make it a bit more bearable, and then that thing will be silly quick, but be warned tne interior looks like a sheeps intestines!!!!!!!

seems like you have allready covered all the basics, like zorro said above, double check all the leads are in nice and tight, if so it may be something a bit more serious, so the compression test is the next logical step.

the ngk's work fine and are the recommended ones, bosch super 4's wont make much difference in your performance

yup you need 2 five litre bottles for an oil change, and its nigh on 6 litres for an oil change, and stick the rest in the boot on the left hand side to use for top-ups.

all depends on how the cars been used as above mate, the chains are made of metal so thats why you get the noise as opposed to a belt, but its the plastic guides that break so the sound is usually intermittent. do a search on google, im sure there is a vid on there,blown vr6 timing chain or something.

ive got the fk badgeless 3 bar ( just a bit different from the usual 2 bar), just make sure you get a bodyshop to spray it up in the right color, it fits fine.

if its a standard mani then there shouldnt be anything there dude, i am assuming as youre stating spark plug you have allready got the lead off? and maybe this one is a bit tighter than the others so a qualit spark plug removal toll will definately help.
