  1. its just a 2 box system, and the rear box is empty, just the 2 pipes welded in. see what collins say first. and there's no way they are keeping the middle box!
  2. ha ha!! maybe i should change my screen name to 'frannyscarhasgotsmallballscoshisexhaustispants!' next month is either new suspension set up, cos its sat like a 4x4, or pay collins to make it rumble... answers on a postcard! lol
  3. this weekend i'll get some pics up of the exhaust, it looks like it should rattle windows. i might be open to a swop... ha ha i might even make a short vid, watch this space
  4. i went o awesome gti and they quoted nearly £400 for a miltek, and right now that is a miles better option!!
  5. it's a 2 box, rear has no filling whatsoever apparently. what pisses me off more, is that people, or engineers in this case, should give you a little bit more info as to what your buying. i mean magnex supply aston and tvr for crying out loud, do you know where im coming from? its a lot of money to spend, and if sky had of pulled their finger out and given me broadband when i asked, then i would have asked the question first and then looked at what i was buying. i mean, the pipes look mint, it fits belting, i'll get a pick up soon, but just totally let down by the product. i guess this is my
  6. i can either look to replace the cat, or do the remove cemtre pipe and have a single piece, i mean, noise is good, a v6 should sound awesome with a pipe, i just cant get my head round why this mongoose is quieter than a standard pipe!
  7. mines the same, long straight single piece to the centre, then to the back box. when i spoke to them they said the rear hasnt got anything in it, just the 2 pipes welded into it. i think he was talking bollox myself
  8. i bought a full mongoose, cos they are the only pipes i had on my tuned fords, and they sounded awesome, spine tingly fantastic, so when my standard pipe decided time was up, i thought 'i know, i'll call Collins in congleton', so i did. paid the best part of £327, paid some monkeys to put it on, and it looks mint. and so i rubbed my hands, cant wait to hear a nice V6 burble coming from the back... the standard exhaust was more noteable!! it is so quiet! i even took off the filter just to make sure my mind wasn't playing tricks on me, and it wasn't, and i was gutted. even now, 2 months later,
  9. that is some extensive cleaning!! wonder if he took it for a blast first, as all valeters do!! lol id have wet myself!!
  10. i've been thinking about these, even looked on the FK site cos i think they look the dogs, but blimey they sound like hard work!! guys, please, are they worth it? i need to know cos my card is twitching! lol
  11. not a bad price, seeing as its got everything. sounds like a good find
  12. hi, just thought i'd join in!! i bought mine in feb this year, 108k, part service from 80k onwards all main dealer as was repossesed from somewhere near you, has the same(ish!) index, R*** TLO. it's a 98, mystic blue, with everything but leather, bit of rust bottom of one door and an arch, but it doesn't matter to me as i know plenty of lads in the trade. i knocked just over £500 off cos of this, and paid 2600 for it. bargain. also, he was in his 30's, kid, nice house with an M3 and another BMW, so wasn't thrashed, and its not a bad car, but it was the first i'd looked at properly. and other
  13. right in the middle, this is where, when its in neutral, it's central. i.e, 3rd-4th gear central. is it any better?
  14. it's very easy, 1 13mm nut. if you look down onto the top of the 'box, there's like a slide, nut on the end of the bolt facing towards the engine, keep it in nuetral, tighten that nut; that's central neutral, i.e. level with 3rd and 4th. give it a try, let me know how you get on. take you less than 10 seconds. mechanic was looking at mine for 10 mins while i was wiggling the stick, couldn't find anything, he gave it a wiggle and i spotted it straight away
  15. ah, i see. that'll be why then!! lol. not to worry
  16. paid the fee, but still cant access any of the premium material. any help?
  17. problem solved!! i kinda guessed it had something to do with a link, and i was right, a 13mm nut had come loose, and so preventing full movement in nuetral, hence not getting gears. took someone to sit in it and try the gears before i found it tho, but thanks for the help guys
  18. still not sorted. came to set off for work, got 1st, drove a bit, set of lights, went to set off, and BAM!! 3rd gear, no other, then limped home. now i can only get 3rd and 4th, but can select all gears at the box. oh, and if i go for reverse, i get 1st, pull back and get 2nd. anyone got any ideas?? please help as i need to get to work!!!
  19. have a problem with 1st gear, it's a right bitch at times to get it! have to push over v hard to select it, sometimes into 2nd then into 1st at a stop. anyone got any idea's? all help greatly appreciated cheers, mark
  20. i wouldn't mind a suede one, with a bigger boss so the wheel is closer to me
  21. my mate had one, i sold the cossie, liked the noise, found a cheap one not too far away with 1 previous owner who was getting on a bit, so knew it hadn't been thrashed, it was the first one i looked at and drove, so i bought it and not regretted it. it's last of the mk3's, no leather (shame!), but has air-con, and it needs a likkle bit of work i.e paint, wheels shox and undecided about an exhaust. but all round, it's not a bad car, it's comfy, well positioned, solid, and most of all, only just run-in, 113k, it'll do me for a few years!!
  22. and it was the golf i raced the cayman in
