I have the opportunity of one of these to go with the S/C. I am intending to put it in the boot due to the size and I would prefer to keep windscreen washer functionality. My questions are - before I commit to it - has anyone got any comment on the CoolMist system? (seems ok from my research) I will be intending to use the little area on the near side boot, where the emergency kits mount as an area to install, So what bottle fits? I have heard of the "old emergency Petrol tank" and the 5L Passat water bottle! Is the bottle ok as I would like the function of the level indicator? Or is t

Got a new set of VT on their way Comp Front & Fast road Rear and Gearbox! Anything I should know about the swap over (Other than WD40)? I recall someone saying certain bolts could be bent. Is that the case and if so which ones and does anyone have part numbers - as I assue they will be VAG only! Cheers

I forgot engine mounts........ IBIVR has got some new ones he is developing and should work fine and include bolts which typically bend as time goes on. Also cheaper VT are the origional option and suggest the following:- "got my quote from Vibra and thier recomendations were as follows: We make both Fast Road and Competition mounts but some people prefer to use Comp mounts on the road - and put up with the extra harshness. However what we have found is that VR6 is not too harsh with a Comp front mount. Stealth regularly fit Comp front mounts to VR6's. Therefore we would suggest using a Comp

As I/we are going through a group buy I thought it may be worth adding a slightly more comprehensive guide to fitting or at least deciding and selecting which charger to fit and what else to think of through that process. Ladies and Gents, Looking for a bit of advice/comments on a couple of things! Seperate bottle in the boot or use the washer bottle? Dash display or just an LED? Water float switch to warn of fluid level? On/Off switch for the summer/winter? Any other comments please Thanks

if you have put an aftermarket zorst etc this will effect where the power is and varies from pipe to pipe (Induction/manifolds etc). The car is normally rated to pick its power up higher up the range and 0-30 is all about minimising wheelspin. the grunt comes in once you have good traction and up the rev range. AS mentioned you must remember how the power is delivered and it does shift. You just have to go out with a mate who has a focus or something and have a blast on a privae road or track and you will soon see the car is very capable especially once off and running. The main bits are the chains and guides as mentioned. If it is in bits then hows your clutch and Tappets? Finally filters and Fluids all round (Oils & Fuel)! If your engine was in good fettle before then I do not see the need to replace all the seats (big/little ends, rings etc...). Of course you can do them if you feel you will benefit and your engine is in bits after all ! Then theres mods - Cams, Port and Polish, etc...?

Mine seems high in comparison to you guys. 90 ave with up to 110 on motorway at speeds! Always steady just higher!

Ok so what you are looking to achieve is a noticable difference in sound compared to speed. Remember as a youth - variable volume constant speed cars? Well same concept! You are physically looking to see if the rev counter increases and the speed remains almost the same (obviously it will climb/go faster and I am quoting worst case to ensure the point is made). The best way to spot it (imo) is to drive up a hill and see if the effect is there. Place in a gear and accelerate and the sound should increase and not the speed. It is a noticable effect! yeah I have a seperate company phone set up already so dont really need one for that. I have a personal phone/personal stereo which I need to maintain for those tube trips/fits into my pocket Nice Like! etc. Also the screens are generally a little small while tanking down the motorway to be able to pop my diary up or get a contact with the click of a button or 2 also get a good view of my junction with out the need to stare at it and crash..... However, there are some new ones which I am in the process of looking at to see if the screens and op systems are ok one handed...... So suggestio

Help, I find I need the new Tom Tom Satnav upgrade and my old HP iPAQ5550 is now officially old and no longer sold... So.... I need to use it for work, run windows, wifi, Bluetooth, Outlook and run my SatNav. Not sure I want it to be a phone as well really.... so any comments from the geeks amongst us??? (Remember we are all geeks on here as we know far too much about VR6 engines, time preparing for a show etc ..... ) Thank you! :-p
