Insurance - Anyone recommend a good place who will insure a modified VR?

I just got insured with Adrian Flux today.£638 fully comp, £250 excess. I can also drive any other car. All mods declared. I'm 25 with 2 years no claims, 2 accidents and no points. My renewal with Elephant (Without Mods) was £793! -
i'd love to be on the banner! (wouldn't we all!) It's my birthday this month and i'm getting a 7 million pixel camera so i'll be able to take some high res pics if you wans pics of my car?

lol! Not quite disintegrating just yet! I'm treating the dash to a make over, should be finished in a week or two. ;) Quite right too Steve, I was simply showing a picture i was stupid enough to take at such a high speed. I'm quite aware that speedo's are inaccurate. My TomTom gives me a gps reading that shows my clocks are out by around 7-8% Iirc your car is supercharged is it not? My car is completely standard bar an air filer and i'm very pleased with the performance of it what ever the top speed may be. Greg

On my home from No-Rice on Wednesday i passed a dis-used airfield and found an abandoned runway in which i could practise my top speed runs (ahem! yea right..) Managed 155mph, was well chuffed!

i checked my mfa on the 2nd setting, i've done 740ish miles and averaged 20.1!

When I first got the car I had such a low mpg i considered selling it! It turns out i had my lead boots on for the first few weeks! The best i've had is 32 but on a long run i can get 29 if i take it easy. Around town i average 18mpg.

The Golf VR6 is Insurance group 17. Not sure about the R32, sorry!

I bought a pair of Halfrauds own. They dont fit The pins aren't opposite each other so dont fit in the holders! Then re checked and i'd cross referenced the mk4 bulbs.My bad. So where can we get the correct ones from that last and dont blister? JK can you get some more bulbs for the rest of us?

The Polo will definately be a lot faster, they top out about 130mph which is quick enough in standard form, but I doubt the one you've been offered is standard as they all seem to be modified in some way or another nowadays. £500 will easily get you 140bhp from a g40!

Mate they do anything you want! Almost any colour, border, any writing, prices will be about £30 i would think. He's offered us at least 10% off, maybe more. Read my original thread for all the details
