  1. Ive just cleaned out a shed load of mayo from my oil catch can and filler cap, it really needs a good long run to get everything hot and dried out again after all the cold and damp weather
  2. When i looked into it Lucas where gonna do it as they said they'd done a few in the past
  3. the solder on the board can crack and can need re soldering, but i would guess its just a bad connection, mine were abit sketchy aswel when i fitted them, turned out is was just a sticking needle
  4. make sure the multi plug has fully clicked back into place
  5. Just as VRs are hot engines. when the engine gets hot and the oil is up to temp it just gets really thin and the engine drinks it like fuel, doesnt last long at all and in that state wont lube up the engine very well fully syn also has alot of detergents in it so it would clean gunk away from inside your engine that was sealing a leak, I have heard of people suddenly changing to fully syn on higher milers and the engine started to leak like a sieve and there is no way to stop it without a rebuild
  6. carefully tap flat the top of the little dome behind the cap, only do just enough though I had to do it with my TT comps
  7. fully syn is far to thin for a VR6, VW synta silver is best
  8. filters fuel vapour and recycles it back to the inlet
  9. its bollox mate wouldnt bother, live n learn
  10. Ive heard the stock clutch is good for around 350bhp as a guide, I think if I got to the stage of a clutch swap due to the increased power id do the diff at the same time
  11. I had heard something about that, last time I looked on the site there was nowt about it, wouldnt mind a look at that Think if i was to start over again Id go the Rotrex route though
  12. dont bother, for that price they will be lame and the manifold wont fit anyway, if you hunt around you can find what you need and buy all the components separtatly to get exactly what you want, but obviously there would be the need for internal work on the engine and you would have to expect the odd reliability issue on a daily driver
  13. sounds like it, they do an all plastic version aswell, think they were saving manufacturing costs, they fit just aswell though
  14. I quite fancy my dash trimmed in suede with blue stitching anf maybe an embroidered logo net it would be well expensive though
  15. Ive just got a set of 205/40/17 Pirreli sport contacts for £200 fitted! Ive got a mate who works for a wholesaler though (why is there no emote for smug? hahaha)
  16. I would guess it will be a massive job like it is to fit a TT dash, lots of trimming and tracing cables and hard to get everything working as it should
  17. The cold air feed does make it alot quieter, best way is to remove the front bumper and remove the charcoal canister, the the cold air feed fits perfectly down through the hole that is left and runs the the vent in the front bumper search for carbon canister or charcoal canister on here and you'll find plenty of stuff on how to remove it
  18. I never got on with that stuff, seemed to wash of in the rain easily and if you tried to improve things by adding more and letting soak in b4 buffing, it just flung up the painwork
  19. Was wondering last night what happens when its up. Well worth the money though
  20. ^^^^^ I get the same questions, It gets really annoying doesnt it
  21. Step away from my car!!! I wouldnt go back there mate, was he an old bloke? Ive never met a mechanic that hasnt heard of a Golf VR6!!!!
  22. Mine (stage 1 kit) is 260 bhp with no other engine mods and the standard ecu is fine with a re-map
  23. In that case use the gliptone stuff and the chemical guys leather scent air freshener
  24. gliptone cleaner and conditioner, once about May and again sept or oct chemical guys conditioner every now and then when I feel like doing it really, normally after a quick wipe over with halfords leather wipes
  25. Really good stuff http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wheels-amp-tyres/sonus-tire-bumper-dressing/prod_40.html get the proper applicator aswell, makes it alot cleaner and easier and uses less and clean the tyres before using it with something like megs all purpose cleaner diluted 4:1
