  1. its probably rusting from under the wheel arch, i bet if you look under the arch its choca with mud up by the filler neck? mk1`s and mk2`s also suffer from this if they are not jetted right up under the arches regularly, as the muck sticks up there it stays wet and corrosion can start to creep in
  2. yeah afraid so! they usually crack when removed and even if you get it out in one oiece its a nightmare to clean all the old bonding off! window should be cheap enough though even from vw
  3. something loose bud, get around your engine bay and try all the plugs and sensors, cant be anything major. check your fuse box isnt loose either cutting out is electrical dont think an earth would necesarily cause that especially as its been progresive and only over bumps.
  4. that sharan looks mean! i do like borbet A`s !!! i feel some "winter" wheels could be on the cards!! does anyone know if 9X16`s go on the rear without arc mod?
  5. it should be around the same as you would normaly run maybe a few psi more, info in your fuel flap
  6. The FK KONIGSPORTS are height and firmness adjustable via the top of the strut like the other top adjust kits around, and as far as i am aware they have notch click settings same as koni standard stuff, some of the guys on here have this kit, mine is just the high sport version with no firmness ajustment just height, but that said it is still a good kit, obviously for track use the more adjustment you have the better you will be so the KONIGSPORT kit would be a better option in that respect, that added with an arb would be a major improvement i would think and give loads of scope to play with
  7. common rust place on a mk3, even got a little tiny bit there on my 5 door and they dont usually get it!!!
  8. looking good mate! i saw another mean looking sharan at E38 i think it belonged to "westside" it looked good too with big wheels.
  9. cool! you need a new sig piccy now then!! glad its sorted, on the spanner subject i had 2 with my h&r kit, one small one large! its supposed to be so you can "lock" and "unlock" the 2 rings but as you say done it with one! i didnt even use the spanners on my FK kit! just brute force!! hope mine stays in good nick like yours after 3 years of road kill???? we shall see
  10. the way i see it if it goes bang i would be pissed off but i dont worry unduely about it!!! just look after it as best you can with decent oil and servicing and dont abuse it for long periods and most engines will do mega miles, just the odd few that go boom i suppose?
  11. yeah agree! the auto is a decent car but the manual makes the vr6 a real drivers car! gear changes are a frequent occurance in a vr6 though!! lots of very low mileage auto vr`s when i was looking for mine though at decent money aswell, just depends what you want it for?
  12. mines on 86k and dosent use a drop of oil or water, as long as its looked after with decent oil and parts they are pretty bullet proof
  13. i like being able to open the rear windows!! and people dont trash your front seats and carpets climbing in the back! i do like the 3 doors but 5 is more practical for me with passengers as they can let themselves in and out!!
  14. i am afraid a lot of the points you mention are characteristics of the mk3 vr6, sure they can be fettled and improved on but its gonna take you some time and effort + money to achieve it, i have only ever owned volkswagens and every single one (if provoked!) would start to break away on the front under severe pace, the only exception was my golf Rallye which was a complete animal with grip to match the 4 wheel drift was awesome and easily controlled by the throttle, alas 2 wheel drive front wheel drive cars tend to be less predictable and under and oversteer under different conditions, i am no
  15. koni shocks and eibach springs are supposedly the best compromise (comfort/handling) set up on a vr, obviously brand new vw items will give you factory standard, (the shocks on mine were green, they did different colours for dif years) they are all boge with vw springs, as said a peugeot is a lot lighter car & power per ton bhp is totaly different in the little tin pot frog mobile! i have fitted FK coilovers on my vr6 and it handles superbly and ride comfort although firmer than standard (barge like standard!) it isnt harsh or uncomfortable on a long journey, and it only cost
  16. best to just put a decent suspension kit on it first, any ARB will work in conjunction with firmer suspension far better than on its own, if you find your loosing the back end in corners you are either going to fast for the corner or conditions! slow in fast out is the best way to corner mate, set the car up in the right gear and speed for the type of corner first not halfway through! if you get it wrong your going to have a big repair bill or kill yourself!!
