  1. Yeah i need the torque, as you know power is just a drivation of torque and engine speed. It doesn't really matter if the plots are inaccurate, as long as they are there or thereabouts is fine. I can add into the report that the results were assumed to be innacurate and a way to improve this would be to use a more accurate dyno, ie engine dyno, that'll get me extra marks so that's why i don't mind. cheers
  2. Cheers that's cleared up To be honest i don't see what the problem is with the innacuracies of corrected values, power runs are usually only done for the fun of it and nothing is read into the results, it's just bragging ammo down the pub or forum so accuracy is hardly critical. When cars are tuned on the rollers i'd guess that it is done by comapring relative values, for example, if you adjust this does it improve the torque from the result i got a few seconds ago, absolute values are of no use because you are comparing relative values. If the rollers are innacurate and underreading by say 2
  3. I've found lots of plots by going onto google image search and entering "VR6 dyno" (without speech marks), but most of the plots i can find are American and give peak power as about 155bhp, surely this is at the wheels because otherwise it's pathetic, i'm sure all the plots i've seen in the UK have been corrected for transmission losses and give an estimated power and torque at the flywheel. Does anyone have a plot that has been corrected for transmission losses? Please, i'm sure somebody on here must have a printout that they scanned look here http://www.dynospotracing.com/a3vr6.htm it clearl
  4. Hi, has anyone got a dyno plot of a VR6 from a rolling road day? as close to standard as possible would be best. I need it for a uni assignment where i'm modeling the theoretical acceleration and performance in matlab simulink. Cheers Col edit: pretty please
  5. I heard some woman shouting out my window so i looked out fearing for the safety of my car, to my relief there was a woman shouting at 2 police who had got out of their car and were holding a guy down, he was telling her to get back inside but she was saying she was gonna set her 'staffie' onto the police LOL. The next thing i know 6, yes 6!!!! more patrol cars come screeching around the corner of my street, that's 7 cars for one restrained guy and a hysterical woman all good fun to watch :) The original police threw an eppie when all these cars arrived, he was saying he just called a code 6
  6. I with you on that one binliner, that is a cracking photo!! best of a great bunch
  7. 1. you could be experiencing either torque steer (which you wouldn't have got in your RWD E30) or maybe it's just following the camber of the road, if it's neither of those i'd get the alignment/suspension and brakes checked out. 2. I've never driven any other VR6s but it doesn't feel as positive as some other cars i've driven, i'm pretty much used to it now anyway.
  8. I'm seriously thinking of some of the 3 piece modern lines in those vids, if those are actually real tests then i'm sold but something does seem a bit strange like others have pointed out
  9. http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewforum.php?13 7/10/05 10:41 clicked on the link from the forums home page, it thought about it like it was loading then said "done" and i was still on the forum homepage
  10. are you far from Plymouth? i can't be arsed to travel too far
  11. yeah that was what i was trying to do but the soldering iron wouldn't get hot enough, i'll try soldering again tomorrow, if the iron doesn't get hot enough i may get a new one that actually does
  12. ok, i tried to fix it but just ended up throwing the soldering iron on the floor because it didn't get up to temperature and generally got hacked off !grr Tomorrow i'm off going to get some mechanical connectors !lol Oh and some of you sharper observers will notice that it's my passenger side rear door i forgot which one it was when i started the thread
  13. well i've found the culprit just off out to solder/fix that now!!! while i was there i also found this x) I also learnt that VW black glue stuff that holds the foam door liner thing is the most annoying substance known to mankind
  14. Basically my drivers side rear electric window doesn't work, all the other windows work fine but this one doesn't, both the button on the dash and the one in the rear don't do anything, no motor noise or anything. Any ideas what it could be? i'm thinking loose wire, relay or motor, are any of these common failures on VWs? I'll probably get my door card off tomorrow to have a ganders as i have the afternoon free but i just thought i'd see what you experienced VW guys think before Cheers
  15. Tap water is fine that's what 99.99% of people use. I see where you're coming from though, distilled (de-ionised) water would be the ideal solution as it inhibits galvanic corrosion, nothing to stop you using it instead of tap water if you want to, it's not that expensive or you could make your own
  16. I have no experience of others but my BMC is fantastic
