Unlucky mate!! I recently passed mine with a few advisories, Pitted rear disks misting of oil on rear shocks discoloured numberplates and worn rear bushes, not causing excessive movement Hope you can sort out your handbrake without too much hassle

Like has been said before sod the exhaust listen to the beautiful induction noise the VR makes mmmmmmm... Everything is pretty much exactly as i want it on my car BMC + supersprint system, quiet on idle and low load, bury yuor plate of meat in the carpet and there's no mistake you've got something out of the ordinary

i'm tempted to do that actually, means i won't have to wake up early on sunday for a hour and a half drive!! Where would you guys meet up? i may well squeeze in a visit to relatives in Thornbury beforehand.

Does anyone know the gear ratios inc. final drive for the VR box? I found this on vwvortex but these seem to be for an american version, i seem to remember that they had different ratios to us though, did they have different ratios? 1st: 3.62:1 2nd: 2.07:1 3rd: 1.47:1 4th: 1.04:1 5th: 0.84:1 Final: 3.39:1

Will people be up for a convoy from the south west? I'm probably going to stay with relatives in either Thornbury or Chippenham on the saturday night (17th), then driving from there to the RR day on the sunday morning. Will anyone be going the same way? it's my first meet so i'd rather meet and convoy up with someone first so at least i know someone

just looked on ETKA, i'll put the numbers here to save people searching, 1H6 805 903A for the left part and 1H6 805 904A for the right hand part I'm tempted to get some myself, i'll have to add it to the list

I saw the DTM at Hockenheim on there this morning, it said Goodwood fastival was going to be on next and there was a clip of a rally quattro doing the hillclimb but i had to go and learn about surface roughness instead

A guy at uni said his Nappisan Almera gti would anihilate my VR, i laughed It is quite close though looking at the specs, 0-60 in 7.9 and top speed of 131mph, 1/4 mile approx 16.1, but then again it's an almera !lol

well i've heard someone say that they don't have any contents in a directory called UPD and it works fine, wouldn't know what they are on about though. They are roumered to have created a folder called UPD but put nothing in it because they were in the same situation as you. Sorry i can't help more

yeah i know why it does it and all (being a mechanical engineering student) i was just curious if anyone else's VR did it too, no other car that i've driven has done it cheers guys

Ok so this isn't really a problem (i hope) but does everyone elses exhaust tick as it cools once the engine is off and it's parked? Mine has always done it with the factory system and also the supersprint setup, even after a quite tame drive with no ragging at all

I've just recently got a bluetooth GPS and tom tom 5 for my PDA, it's pretty cool, i'm still pointing to the screen and saying "look look we're moving...now we're turing right and it knows it" to my passengers !lol i'm a big kid really
