    Fitted my induction kit and decided to have a look at the belt tensioner that has been squeeking whipped it off and bearing is truly $h@gged! also belt came off in two peices!!! Parts wont arrive till wednesday morning .. bout £100 all in .. Hope i can fix it in time for no rice x)

    whilst having the car tracking and camber checked today noticed that the sump has been belted! and it appears to be cracked! i'm not losing very much oil but it is definatly a concern! has anyone got a spare sump for sale? is this common on lowered VR's? Can you buy sump guards? Ps i didn't hit BTW must have been the previous owner Grrrrr

    been looking all over my engine trying to find the source of this squeak it seems to be coming from the serpentine belt area.. at the top.. (no it hasnt got a lemming infestation) could it be the tensioner? how easy is it to replace? it is rev dependant and dosent go away when engaging gears etc etc.. thanks chris.

    This is quite easy if you just want to change the tint of the clock (speedo/tacho/fuel/temp gauges) illumination. What you will need: Soldering Iron (fine tip) Fine solder Fine electrical screwdriver Wide blade (like a putty/filler knife) Sharp knife Cross-head screwdriver Torx Driver (No. 06) Hot-melt glue gun & GP glue stick Coloured Film (I used blue colour) LEDs: (I used RED) 3No. 5mm or 3mm 2V or 12V (door switches) 4No. 3mm 2V (mirror adjuster) 4No. 3mm 12V (dash switches) 1No. 3mm 2V (light switch) Resistors - 3No 470R, 1/2W (if required) for door switches PLENTY OF

    ok my 96 VR6 golf has these systems fitted, VW Transponder Alarm - What is this? anyone got anymore info??? Spal AS80 Security system - I only have one alarm fob, and i cant get it to enter valet/program mode .. is a master fob required? again has anyone got any info???? Laserline - immobiliser push contact thingy any info??? Seems like a bit of overkill in my oppinion is this a normal security set up? what parts are oem? was there a remote keyfob as standard???     that my friends is a 10p variable resistor and a 30p knob from maplin.. i have heard of this 'modification' i think you put inline with the airflow meter or fueling.. will screw your car.. dont bother

    Ok i'm looking for an induction solution, What is the real world difference between, A: replacement panel filter element ? Will i see any noticeable performance gain? B: enclosed cone filter eg BMC CDA system C: cone filter in engine bay D: cone filter remotly located behind bumber/wing A few questions, How much real world difference is ther in power between having the air drawn from the front ie options B + D and having a filter directly in the engine bay. will a filter mounted directly behind the bumper suck up water ? What i'm looking for is a cheap alternative to the BMC CDA as i havent g

    Ok its official, We have exclusive access to The Pheasant Hotel, In Winterslow near Salisbury, the last saturday of every month. The hotel has a huge carpark capable of accomodating over 100 cars. The hotel has a childrens play area at the rear and serves good food all day (as well as Drink!) The area behind the hotel is a large field and will be utilised during the summer months for extra special meets.
