  1. As above, worst case you've got 13 years of accumulated crap under them and they crumble in your hands like my MK1 did! Then you go out and buy some new wings with oval stlye repeaters and get the rear patched up, jobs a good un! Just to say though, my white one is an M reg and one of the arches was a bit scabby underneath and rust is like icebergs, there's always loads mor under the surface.
  2. Forgive me for asking the obvious but why didn't you just buy a VR6 to start with?
  3. Has it got aircon? Could be it dumping waste water and it hitting something hot. My 200sx used to do this a lot.
  4. Sayiong that my newr 97 car doesn't do it. The only difference being it's on 17 inch rims where they were on 15's
  5. So does mine as did my first one. The general consensus I got was that it was normal, they just suffer from a lot of torque steer. Mine will happily drive in circles if you let it!
  6. Between OBD1 and OBD2 cars? My OBD2 car consistently gets 5-7mpg better than it's OBD1 engined sister. Is this normal for them?
  7. Had a set of 8mm ones fitted 2 days ago and the difference in the car is astounding. As some of you will know my Vento is gas powered and never ran quite right on gas but ok on petrol. Apologies to any American readers who will be hugely confused at this point The running of the engine had been getting worse recently so I took the plunge and bought a set ot Magnecors. The cars computer never showed better that 19mpg so it was a shock to pick it up from its service to see that it has jumped to 26mpg on a 'spirited' run The engine is also silky smooth now too. Well worth the money imo!
  8. The car in the link I posted is lowered 80. I can get you a set ot TT COmps for £300 with lightly used tyres if you want? Dunno what price they normally go for mind you, just got a mate who's selling them.
  9. My arches are cut so I can't answer that sorry.
  10. Ok, just had a wheel of. The numbers on the inside say:- ET-45 17 x 7JJ 043 Hope you know what they mean cos I don't!
  11. Yep with nearly new Stunner tyres. Just been out in the pouring rain and they were suprisingly grippy. 205/40/17s I'll have to whip one of the wheels off to check the offset, I'll do it now and get back to you. I want £250. A set of tyres is more than that!
  12. The wheels on this car are for sale if you're interested! Aerospeed GT 17 inch http://www.evoposters.net/carsa/album40
  13. Cheers Pete but Europarts are £39 for both wings.
  14. I need 2 front wings for my Vento. I'm guessing Europarts will be cheapest but does anyone know anywhere cheaper?
  15. I've tried all the 'big' 3 in mine, Optimax, BP Ultimate and Esso Super. Never noticed a difference and the car has the same performance when it runs on gas.
  16. As I thought. There were only 50 made for the German market and none officially imported.
  17. Where did it come from then? They were never a UK model which is what I was referring to.
  18. I'll take an educated guess but I'm fairly sure they don't exist!

    VR6 Sales

258 Ventos overall! And I own 3 of them!
  20. Coilovers are a type of suspension (the most expensive type!)
  21. My mate sells Audi TT 16 inch rims with good tyres for £150. I'm picking my set up at the weekend
  22. Hi, my Vento is gas powered. You will loose significant power with a single point system as this is the early type. Mine is a sequential system and there is no noticeable difference between the power on gas and petrol. You do loose about 4 mg on gas although a signle point system will loose more. My conversion cost £1600 but it has paid for itself already. If you do get a conversion you must have uprated plug leads or it will misfire on gas. I use Magnecor 8mm. If he's quoting £1350 for single point my advice would be forget it and spend the extra! It's worth it every time you fill the tank
  23. Similar thing happened on our MK2 a few years back. It needed a new 'box I'm afraid.
