  1. Is here http://www.evoposters.net/carsa/album40 I'm planning on changing the wheels. Any suggestions as to which ones to go for? They are 17's by the way. And if anyone is interested in buying the Aerospeeds on it now, let me know.
  2. Just to mention, when I was stopped for speeding last week the two coppers were parked behind my Vento for a good 20 minutes and never mentioned the german plates.
  3. oops. Coming home from work yesterday, in a rush to get changed and take my mate to the airport I may have inadvertantly opened up the VR6. Anyway I passed the sliproad with the Police Galaxy hiding up it doing a shade over 140 (kph obviously) I nailed the brakes and carried on but then when I had to stop for a roundabout he caught up. They went through the usual, do you know why we stopped you etc. Then came the "Do you know what speed you were doing? Erm...Dunno officer. He then went on to explain that I'd been going so fast that he hadn't had time to get the laser gun on me before I'd brake
  4. Well I knew it couldn't be standard. I mean, my MK 1 Golf has been filmed passing Ferraris on track but it's had £10k spent on it!
  5. What have you done to your VR so that it "left it for dead" bearing in mind the Scooby has at least 100bhp more? Don't get me wrong, I'm no fan of Scoobs but I know that neither of my VR6s were a match for an STi. Also, I travelled to Le Mans in my mates R32 and we were running with R33 Skyines. I know for a fact that my standard VR6's would not keep up.
  6. Plugs, leads and coil pack were replaced with the gas conversion 5k ago.
  7. My VR has taken to stalling for no reason on either fuel. One minute she's ticking over quite happily and then it's like she's been turned off After this has happened it runs like a bag of crap for ages, kicking and banging and generally being a pain. It seems electrical to me but I don't know where to start
  8. The Vento VR6 is very rare. I'm told there were only 1400 sold in the UK, a lot of these were police traffic cars. I've owned two and my brother now owns my first one!
  9. I'm on my secone Vento VR6 and can say from experience that they benefit from shorter, stiffer springs. I've driven plenty of MK3 Golfs but none were VR6's so I can't comment. Oh, and Slim, I used to sell Seats and the Toledo is NOTHING like a Vento!!
  10. List of places it's currently available is here. Clicky

    3k on gas!

The conversion was £1600 inc VAT. That's with a 70 litre tank.

    3k on gas!

And everything is still fine. I'd sit and work out how much I've saved but maths was never my strong point! The current prices are, LPG 37.9p, petrol, 89.9. According to the MFA I'm averaging 21 on gas and 26 on petrol. This could easily be improved by I didn't buy a 2.8 V6 to dawdle! I'd also like to state that performance has NOT suffered, it used to with the ealy LPG conversions but not now with the sequential systems if they are set up properly. Down sides? Well, I'm fortunate in that my car is a Vento so I still have a large boot with the gas tank in. My car came with a space saver and a
  13. I need a replacement part for my Vento. It's the strip that runs the full width of the car under the headlights. I'm not sure if it is part of the main grille or not. Anyone got part numbers/know what I need to ask for and where I can get one from? Thanks Gavin
  14. Who's that with? I've used several track companies and their organisation is shocking. I stick with BaT now.

    Track days??

No claims bonus cannot be used on any classic policy although you can get some insurers who will give discount if you have your main car with them and they can see you have NCB.
  16. Hi people. I've arranged a discount for a day at Donington through BookaTrack. It's a Saturday and it's open pitlane for

    auto vr6

[blockquote]But come on, if you're getting a vr6, get the manual!! [/blockquote] Bear in mind that some people need autos. I had a car crash a few years back and I damaged my wrist. I didn't want to get a slugger auto either at the time. I eventually settled on a 200SX which I modified to just shy of 300bhp. It made having a manual somewhat more bearable! Fortunately after a year with an auot my wrist had healed enough to get a manual again.

    Track days??

Any car 10 years or older is eligible for a classic policy now. My Golf is insured through Highway. Every mod is declared right down to the polycarb windows. Mileage is unlimited too.

    Track days??

Tax and insurance won't get pricey if you buy wisely. Tax is what?

    Track days??

Had mine on track at Elvington when my track car was broke. Had a great laugh thrashing round with my mate in his Vento VR6. We spent lap after lap blasting past other cars cos basically we didn't give a shit! Eventually the head marshall came over and said "As entertaining as the one make championship is, can you slow it down please lads!"
  21. It rocks! Put 43 litres in a couple of days ago for the dizzy cost of
  22. I've got a white one and my brother has my old purple one. Mine is the only white one I've seen.
  23. The reason they put the premium up is that in the event of an impact, the cage is bolted to all areas of the car so it's highly likely the entire shell will be totaled. Try Highway for a quote, my MK1 GTi track car was
