  1. Well up to date pictures as promised today Looks good from a distance (the further the better!!!) Now the interior, strangely none of the front seats boot build, shame the person to install the speakers had no idea about sound staging and put them in the rear door cards.... next time i go to a concert i must stand with back to the stage!!!! Thought i would stick my daily up here after owning her since November last year, although i have been a member on here for 11 year since i had my first VR (mulberry highline), sorry for the long post Well i missed my first VR so much i purchased another (some 8 years later) this time with a bit more go, in the form of a charger, and this time 3 door instead of 5 (although now i have kids and didn't before, which seems the wrong way round, but they made me sell it last time, so now its my choice!!!)   4. My charged VR is sounding a liitle sick and being on 105k looks like its the timing chains need replacing. THe engine is also breathing a little heavy from the cam breather pipe. So planning to wip the engine out, and fit new chains, guides etc, make sense to chuck on a new clutch and headgasket whilst i am there i think, enabling me to run a spacer plate to drop the compression a touch, so i can up the boost :-) Now as i will have the head off, i might as well get it a good going over, skim and new valve guides. Is there anything else thats recommended whilst this is being done and is it
  5. Can't you use the rear brakes from a golf v5 which would give a 256mm brake instead of the standard 228mm? I think using the v5 ones makes it straight bolt on as opposed to any of the 4 wheel drive ones Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. It was a universal OBD2 fault code reader, that i borrowed. Do different readers have an effect on the codes, or reading of them?
  7. Sorry i was on the phone and it looked all ok when i posted it, not using tapatalk sh!t again!!! Cars only running a stage 1 supercharger set up, so i would imagine stock injectors (haven't checked though) Just to clarify the codes are: 1) Solenoid valve 6 n93 00268 Now the code 00268 refers to auto boxes, but the car isn't an auto (never has been). I have been reading about this and it could be blue temp sensor or MAF, but not sure, has anyone got any definative ideas? 2) 32767 - 035 kwp1281 def not found Haven't a clue on this one 3) Activated charcoal filter system n80 01247 -
  8. Listed three, first one is the auto one, it's a manual and always has been. Second one is 32767 def not found 3 is charcoal canister, take it that one is cos it's been removed for the supercharger conversion? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I have a fairly new to me v-engineering supercharged VR (odb2) and it doesn't run right when cold. It's running a generic stealth map. It struggles to hold idle and if you lift off the gas coming to a junction it will cut out, as it warms up the car will catch itself but the revs will drop to 400-500 then it idles at 600. When warm it was idling at 700. Now I got the fault codes read today and there are 3 of them and are as follows: Solenoid valve 6 n93 00268 32767 - 035 kwp1281 def not found Activated charcoal filter system n80 01247 - 031 Now the last one I am fairly sure is because
  10. Hi, I recently got myself a supercharged VR6 after wanting one for many years. Its a stage 1 ODB 2 car (had a standard VR6 7 years ago, and still miss it) Sorry i have searched but there seems to be lots of information scattered all over the place and i am trying to get my head around this. Now its a V-engineering one, which are one of the early ones (and have gone bankrupt, now RUF in germany can help and suppy bits), and i believe it has one of the early maps from Vince, as when its cold it doesn't like to idle.   11. I was just wondering if the Coil pack for the ODB2 engines is the same as the one for the earlier ODB1 engine?

Hi, My VR6 ODB2 engine killed an ECU just over 1 year ago, and i got a second hand one to replace it (they are nearly £650 new) Now it appears that this ECU my have failed as well, is there an easy way of telling? it appears to have the same fault.... It won't tick over but everything works cept the engine :-( As it won't start i can't get it anywhere to get it looked at? any ideas where to start looking to find out if it is definately the ECU or not Thanks in advance Mark

I was looking at getting the Basturk one, but haven't bothered (the original exhaust is still working, only a slight leak) I don't know if i would get the Basturk one anyway, prices start at £425 so are expensive, i know they are quality but don't know the noise level (they one have one box) and i don't want a noisey system, so I don't want to have to replace it soon, if its too loud.... I may take a trip to Regal autosprt to find out :-) But it looks likely i will settle for a Magnex one now, as they can be had for under £300!!!
  15. does the engine appear to be turning over just not kicking into life?? if that makes sense?? THats what mine was doing when i replaced the ECU, i had to get the ECU coded to the ignition
  16. Right i have a water leak from just under my coil pack. Now i believe it to be from the thermostate? Do i need to get a new housing with it and how much are they roughtly from the stealers, plus maybe a good description or part number?? Thanks in advance Mark
  17. I have a Mk4 golf radio in my highline, and i have had to disconnect the battery... Now when i connected it up the stereo was saying Safe. I have the code for it and know it works cos i have recently used it, but i can't get to put the code in, it doesn't change from safe, it does however have a little 2 in the bottom right hand corner of the screen, if this means anything. I have tried disconnecting the battery again, to see if this made any difference, but nothing. I am wondering if i have to keep it disconnected for a while? Any help would be much appreciated Cheers
  18. I have been looking into this as i am in the same situation... From what i have heard i am going for a magnex twin 3inch system at around £285. I am trying to get a good deal on a basturk system with twin 76mm (3inch) pipes and any larger and i think it would be a bit chav. If you want i can let you know on the price i can get the Basturk for? Sorry i don't have any pictures of any though :-(

I will be doing this, but not to my VR (because i put it up for sale last night) I have a mk2 Polo coupe to play with, and i will be trying to reduce weight as i don't have much money and you can't really do much to them without spending large money (well in relation to the cost of the car) I have figured slightly modified engine (do bike carbs count as slightly modified?? ) and losing as much weight as possible will make it a lot quicker. I am starting with losing unessential trim (but have to keep 4 seats for the baby) and getting some perspect windows made up. May even extent to losing
  22. yes it sounds like the window regulator or motor. I have had three go on mine, all with the same signs. I had to get a new motor, runners and basically everything that lifts the window on one of them, as ignoring and continuing to use it occasionaly (it was the drivers door) it bent the frame and damaged the motor.
  23. I have the code, as it was decoded for me, as it needed it when i had purchased the car. Trouble is its a mk4 radio in a VR6, cos the previous owner liked the factory unit more. I will try holding in the the seek button first, but it already comes up with security code when you switch it on.... so have just been inputting the code i have. I know it works as i did this when i got the car.... but it won't accept the code :-(
  24. I have a mk4 radio in my vr6 and need to put the security code in.... which is the easy bit... I can't get it to enter or accept it, is there a combination of buttons you have to press to do this? Cheers Mark
