  1. Or, because that link doesn't work and the forum seems uninterested in letting me edit that post just go to the shop on this website and find golf mk3 stuff www.vagparts.com
  2. Try here for the bbs solitude centre caps. Not cheap though! https://sslrelay.com/s74326199.oneandoneshop.co.uk/sess/utn;jsessionid=1543bd1c2954671/shopdata/0015_VW/0010_Golf+MK2+=2B+MK3/0030_Hub+caps/product_details.shopscript?article=0020_MK3%2BGolf%2BBBS%2Bhub%2Bcap%2B%3D281H0601171BBXF%3D29
  3. Admiral were by far the best for me this year,
  4. The outer rim that holds the tyre and air is one piece, the other piece is just a bolt on front. I discovered this when i took one apart last night! I emailed BBS to find the torque settings and got a reply from 'Wendig' - "we do not publish torque settings as it is not allowed to split the rims, this will lose your garanty and your safety" Obviously they have to cover their backs in this situation, so i understand them not wanting to give out torque settings, but is it actually dangerous to use the wheels if they have been split and put back together using appropriate torque settings? If th
  5. Does anyone know the correct torque for doing these bolts back up?
  6. Nice one! I haven't had a Car Mot'd for 2 1/2 years due to changes of car etc, but mines due in a couple of weeks and i'm quite nervous!
  7. Highlines were only made in black and purple. They have special badging - vr6 in silver on a black background. They have black a, b and c pillar interior trims. They all have colour coded leather interiors and a/c - although leather and a/c was optional on all mk3 golfs. They have vr6 imprinted on the door sill trim As for wheel arches all late vr6s didn't have the black plastic trim as found on early ones and gtis. Probably a couple more differences. Oh and if it's a highline it will state so on the V5
  8. Ask if he had it serviced at a vw dealer, if he did then you could contact them and see if they have any record of services on that car. I think they keep a record.
  9. I put a set of mk3 Anniversary RXIIs on my highline without knowing what spigot rings were, i have had no problems, they fitted fine.
  10. I just bought 4 toyos from mytyres, £57.50 each - 215/40/16. They will be fitted tomorrow and i hope they are as good as i've heard they are!
  11. Just take what ever you get for it. Although i'm not sure i'd send an airbag through the post....
  12. Even a Porsche Cayenne engine based on the VR6! (Probably very similar to toureg engine)
  13. yes. all late VR6s and gtis seem to have this spoiler. Not sure when it was changed. You can get the older deeper ones from ebay for about £25 or look in a scrappy. Just bolts/clips on and off.
  14. As per Evil Fully Synthetic is too thin. Best to use part synthetic and change it often
  15. www.caraudiosecurity.com Pretty good prices and very reliable
  16. This is who you need to be. Start your own ebay pyramid scheme!
  17. Have this problem too. Cleared all the gung out of the plenum chamber and repleced the pollen filter which helped a bit. Check the drainage channels for blockages.
  18. Peugeot 205 1.4 GR Renault 19 1.7 TXE Renault 19 16v Golf GTI 16v (mk3) VR6 Highline Bad start, but i got there in the end!
  19. There should be a sticker on the door pillar. and one on the floor of the boot on the right hand side of the spare wheel. Door pillar stickers are often missing as people pull them off sometimes. It's more worrying when the boot floor sticker is missing.
  20. Chances are the half leather interior you saw was done as an aftermarket thing by a retrimmer. I don't think any mk3 golfs ever came with part leather interiors.
  21. I think £400 is quite reasonable. I saw a couple of jokers asking £8-900!
  22. I love the colour of my Mulberry Highline, but you're right the seats let it down a bit. I live with them because i got the car at a good price and it had superb history etc and i didn't want to wait longer to get one. I've often thought about changing the interior but all the decent black interior's i've seen (not many) are very expensive. I am considering having mine retrimmed, but maybe just having the middle bits covered in black alacantra or something.
  23. They phoned me when i was selling my MK3 GTi. I became wary when the bloke said "obviously you've priced it to sell asap". When in fact i was trying to extort £4,500 from some poor mug! They made some big promise to sell it for the asking price within two weeks. They say they have a list of buyers ready from their links with finance companies like Yes Car Credit. I was suspicious that anyone would go through a dodgy finance company to buy an eight year old car. Luckily i decided not to use them. If i was you Al, i'd phone them twice a day every day and keep pestering them. Also if the
  24. Only trouble is the more powerful heat unit now makes the poor little vw speakers sound a bit rubbish. However i have just seen a nice set of Alpine Type R components that will fit into the doors and dash bits quite nicely! Been shopping at www.caraudiosecurity.com They seem very cheap and the service was perfect.
