    Got Toyo on my car and rate them very highly in the dry or on wet roads, but think they`re crap on damp surfaces. &| Used to have Michelin Pilots and would say they`re a better all weather tyre IMO.

    Agree with acf8181. The best upgrade is to fit components all round. I have fitted MB Quart comps in my VR, sound far better than the factory items and the only issue I had was also locating the crossover units.

    Save up your money and buy a VSR!!!!! Worth the money and will make the most difference to the car across the rev range but especially low down.

    I`ve got Pagid fast road pads and there 8 groove discs on the VR and can honestly say I`d reccomend this combi to anyone. Improved braking performance from the off and seem to wear very well.

    Yep, electric coolant pump is a common problem. Replace as soon as you can, think it was about £60-70 to do.

    Disconnect battery, leave for a couple of hours (allows static electric charge to dissapate), remove steering column covers and locate airbag push connector. Split connector then remove airbag unit from steering wheel (2 Bolts) this allows for steering wheel removal. Finally prise off trim housing airbag warning lamp on dash and remove bulb. Worked on my VR. Hope it helps.

    Only VW (01254 697988). There near Blackburn, just did a 2lt 8v conversion for my brother in law. He`s well chuffed. Worth a call

    Facelift in `96 saw the arch trims removed from all VR`s. Would check condition of arches before removing though if you like that look.

    Wouldn`t worry about the figures at all. Nice for bragging about but all thats important is it runs well and you enjoy it! As for the sluggish feeling lower down in the range, mines exactly the same and i`m sure most VR owners would say the same. Schrick VSR anyone?

    Agree with binliner. Get everything checked rather than trying to eliminate things one at a time!

    Topgunvr6, you will have noted that normally 102-104 so I don`t think it needs checked Most of the peeps on hear run around 100 in normal conditions as I said only rises when driving the car HARD. Cheers

    Seems to be constant 102 - 104 around town or on a run. Goes up to 112 when playing!
