  1. I've had both (BMC/Ramair) and the Ramair was more noisy. However the BMC is a better quality item, and appears to keep itself cleaner.
  2. 18's will look a bit gay on a Mk3. Not hink it would be "overwheeled"? Selll them for a profit and get some 17"'s.
  3. I might be wrong or on about something totally different, but I think that the connectors are different? Maybe pre OBD2??
  4. Are you sure about this mate? I was led to believe that the connections are different on the earlier cars?
  5. If they are the same as Mk2 ones they just bolt on and off. The hardest bit, is getting the underseal of them. Make sure you that when you refit them, you underseal them too. Also, take care when you are lining them up............don't want any dodgy panel gaps.
  6. I think the VR6 parts are different though. My Supersprint boxes have Golf VR6 stamped on them.
  7. I'm on about response, not power output. Driving around town etc with an unshielded ram air, feels sluggish when you give it the boot. This dosen't happen with a CDA.
  8. Aye, they want drilling out a little.
  9. There's a guide on the site mate.
  10. Turns out my backbox was okay and just the centre box was shagged. Instead of putting the middle box back, I've put a Superspint straight pipe on now. It's still quiet until you give it some beans. Then it sounds like a scooby. 8o)
  11. Ramair's have a better sound but the BMC one gives a better response.
  12. Spot on Si. Cheers mate! Off to Dubsport today.
  13. You should be able to spot the broken spring with just the rocker cover off.
  14. Cheers for the reply lads. Exhaust is now four years old. I'm seriously thinking of getting a link pipe to replace the centre silencer, as its about £100 quid cheaper and I fancy seeing what it will sound like with the box out. I can always chuck it back in, if its too noisey. Si, was thinking of a Sebring, but having phoned most of the tuners to see what they recommend, the answer seems to be the same. Supersprint. I remember you asking on CGTI a while ago about exhausts, and me recommending one to you. I'm gonna stick with Supersprint - out and out quality. I was a little confused about tai
  15. Right. It looks as though my backbox or centre box pipe has broken. ~ Not had chance to have a proper ganders yet, but if the worse comes to the worse and I have to replace two boxes, then I am thinking of going for a full exhaust. Suggestions??? I don't want Jetex or Magnex or Powerflow. I want a very very good exhaust (not too fussed about price) that will sound as good/quiet as my Supersprint. I might even get another Supersprint........it's just the tailpipe designs that are troubling me. Cheers all.
  16. Nice car mate. What offset are you running? Looks a bit low from where I am.
  17. Seems fairly straightforward to me. (pardon the pun ) I do agree with what you are saying about the grooves tho' mate.
  18. If that pic is of your drivers wheel as you said; then this means your arrow is in the wrong place. However, I would believe you are right in saying that they are fitted incorrectly. The leading edge of the groove in theory should be the one closest to the centre of the disc, which would give the best method of dust extraction, due to the centrifugul force created.
  19. Yes. As long as you can pass the emissions test.
  20. I ran ET30 for a whil, but what width are you running?
  21. I'll put them back up when I get them reduced. They are massive. %-6 Here are the links, meanwhile. 8o) http://www.ascj67.dsl.pipex.com/VW/DSCF0027.JPG http://www.ascj67.dsl.pipex.com/VW/DSCF0030.JPG [ Edited Fri May 28 2004, 06:03AM ] [ Edited Fri May 28 2004, 06:03AM ]
